Pre-insulated pipes for efficient heating and cooling systems

The pre-insulated pipe Uponor Ecoflex VIP Thermo Single is an advanced solution for central heating and cooling installations, characterized by exceptional energy efficiency. It utilizes revolutionary vacuum insulation panel (VIP) technology, reducing heat losses by up to 60% compared to traditional systems. The pipe is manufactured in accordance with standards PN-EN 15632 and EN 17414, ensuring high quality and reliability.

Construction and properties

The pipe features a meticulously engineered design using high-quality materials. The inner pipe is made of cross-linked polyethylene (PE-Xa), with an internal diameter of 63 mm and a wall thickness of 5.8 mm, providing strength and corrosion resistance. An oxygen barrier prevents oxygen ingress, extending system lifespan. The insulation is based on vacuum insulation panels (VIP) with an exceptionally low thermal conductivity coefficient of 0.004 W/(m·K), minimizing heat loss. Additionally, closed-cell PE-X foam is applied to ensure flexibility and long-term durability of the insulation. The outer jacket is made of corrugated high-density polyethylene (HDPE), protecting against mechanical damage and environmental factors while simplifying installation.

Thanks to this design, the Ecoflex VIP Thermo Single pipe offers excellent flexibility, resulting in faster and easier installation—up to 20% faster than traditional foam-insulated systems and more than twice as fast as steel pipes. The minimum bending radius is 550 mm.

Application and operating parameters

The pipe is designed for transporting heating and cooling water in underground networks and for heating and cooling applications in residential and industrial construction. It can operate continuously at temperatures up to 80°C and briefly up to 90°C, at a maximum working pressure of 6 bar. It is compatible with other Uponor Ecoflex system components and with fittings for connections to pipes made of other materials.

The pipe is available in long coils or custom lengths, allowing it to be tailored to individual project requirements. Availability of the pipe with a heating cable should be confirmed in the commercial offer.
