Reducing tee PPSU 25-32-25 Uponor Q&E 1008712
Material and construction
The reducing tee is made of polyphenylsulfone (PPSU) - a thermoplastic material with high thermal and mechanical resistance. Unlike brass counterparts, PPSU is not subject to corrosion or dezincification, which translates to the durability of connections over long-term use.
The use of this material allows operation in water supply and radiator installations at a pressure of up to 10 bar at a temperature of up to 95°C (at lower pressures). The design includes three nipples with a clamping ring - two with a diameter of 25 mm and one central 32 mm - enabling a smooth transition between pipe sizes in a single component.
Q&E connection technology
The Uponor Q&E (Quick & Easy) system is based on the ring shrinkage principle. The installation process is as follows:
- The end of the PE-Xa pipe is expanded using a dedicated expansion tool.
- The tee is inserted to the appropriate depth.
- The Uponor Q&E ring is placed (available separately - white for 32 mm diameter).
- The ring automatically shrinks during cooling, pressing the pipe against the fitting with uniform pressure.
This method eliminates the need for welding, threading, or using adhesives - the connection is created in a few seconds and is completely leak-proof. The absence of metal elements in the connection itself eliminates the risk of galvanic corrosion when connecting with other materials.
Application and compatibility
The 25-32-25 reducing tee is primarily used where the installation requires a change in pipe diameter while maintaining a tee branching - typical situations include:
- Heating circuit distribution - transition from a 32 mm main pipe to two 25 mm supply lines.
- Water installations - expansion of a riser or level while maintaining flow continuity.
- Connections with manifolds - adapting smaller diameters to smaller circuits.
The component works with the entire range of Uponor PE-Xa pipes produced using the Engel method (PN-EN ISO 15875 standard), available in S3.2 and S5.0 series as well as eval PE-Xa pipes with an EVOH oxygen barrier compliant with DIN 4726.
With a weight of only 42 grams and compact dimensions (105 × 68 × 43 mm), it facilitates transport and installation even in limited technical spaces.
