Implementing a solar installation on a flat roof requires a support structure that not only bears the weight of the collector but also ensures its stability under wind and precipitation loads. The "A-frame" bracket (manufacturer designation: Type V) is a dedicated solution for Vaillant flat plate collectors from the VFK series, specifically designed for mounting single modules on horizontal surfaces. Thanks to its design, it allows for safe and durable installation without the need to damage the roof's waterproofing layer or compromise its continuity.

Construction and Materials

The main component of this bracket is a frame made of aluminum. This material choice is deliberate – aluminum offers high corrosion resistance, which is crucial due to constant exposure to moisture and UV radiation, while simultaneously providing adequate mechanical strength with low self-weight. The lighter frame facilitates transport to the roof and simplifies the mounting process, resulting in faster installation by the installation team.

The system operates on the principle of gravitational loading (ballast), meaning the stability of the entire structure depends on appropriate weighting of the bracket base. It is not suitable for direct mounting of Type "H" (horizontal) collectors or vacuum tubes without the use of appropriate adapters or other bracket models. It is a universal solution for flat roofs with various types of roofing materials (e.g., bituminous felt, trapezoidal sheet metal), provided the load-bearing substrate is sufficiently strong to support the total weight of the system (collector + frame + ballast).

For the installer, this means simplified logistics – instead of searching for universal brackets that fit only approximately, they receive a ready-made system geometrically matched to the profile of the VFK Type V collector. For the end user, this guarantees safe operation of the installation for many years, without risk of roof damage or collector overturning during storms. It should be remembered that when designing the system, local wind conditions should always be checked, and the appropriate quantity of ballast elements selected in accordance with the solar system manufacturer's guidelines.
