PP-R Pipe – Reliability and Durability of Installations

VESBO PP-R pipe PN20 with a diameter of 16mm and a wall thickness of 2.7mm is an element of an installation system designed for transporting hot and cold water, as well as other media that do not pose a threat to the material. It is characterized by high resistance to corrosion and mechanical damage, which guarantees long-term and trouble-free operation. Made of high-quality static polypropylene copolymer PP-R (type 3), it meets the requirements of EN ISO 15874.

Properties and application

VESBO PN20 pipe is used in water supply installations, central heating, and technological water distribution systems. Its smooth inner surface minimizes flow resistance, which translates to energy efficiency of the installation. The linear expansion coefficient of 0.15 mm/(m.K) should be taken into account when designing installations, especially those with a large length. The pressure class PN20 means that the pipe is adapted to work at a maximum working pressure of 20 bar. Wall roughness at 0.007 mm promotes maintaining the cleanliness of the installation and limits scale build-up.

Construction and assembly

PP-R VESBO pipes are regularly tested for outer diameter, wall thickness and ovality, ensuring compliance with EN -15874-2. Pipe assembly is carried out by welding fittings dedicated to this system – this ensures tight and durable connections. It is important to insert the pipe evenly into the fitting until the marked depth is reached and to follow the recommended heating and welding times (information available in the manufacturer's tables). The pipes are supplied in lengths of 4 meters (information contained in the VESBO catalog). The gray color makes it easier to identify the pipes during installation and operation.
