Multilayer PEX-AL-PEX VPremium Pipe – Reliability and Durability of Installation
The VPremium PERT/AL/PERT multilayer pipe is a modern solution for water and heating installations, combining the advantages of plastics and metal. The construction consisting of five layers provides exceptional strength, flexibility and corrosion resistance. This makes the pipe perfect for both drinking water, hot and cold domestic water installations, as well as heating systems, including underfloor heating.
Construction and properties
The VPremium pipe is characterized by a unique structure: two outer and inner layers made of high-temperature resistant polyethylene (PE-RT), with an aluminum layer welded in overlap between them. Two additional layers of adhesive ensure an excellent connection between PE-RT and aluminum. The aluminum layer acts as an anti-diffusion barrier, preventing oxygen from penetrating the installation, which is particularly important in heating systems. The PE-RT polyethylene used guarantees a long service life – the predicted material durability is at least 50 years.
These pipes comply with the PN-EN ISO 21003-2 standard, confirming their high quality and safety of use. Their characteristics allow the use of standard principles for fixing fixed and movable points, as in the case of traditional metal pipes. Pipes with smaller diameters (up to 25 mm) can be easily bent by hand, without the need for specialized tools – springs are recommended only for small bending radii.
Application and operating parameters
VPremium PERT/AL/PERT pipes are widely used in:
- Drinking water installations
- Hot and cold domestic water installations
- Central heating systems
- Underfloor heating
- Specialized applications requiring high chemical and temperature resistance
These pipes are characterized by the following operating parameters:
- Maximum operating temperature: 95°C
- Maximum operating pressure: 10 bar
- Minimum bending radius (by hand): 5 x outer diameter (OD)
- Minimum bending radius (using springs): 4 x outer diameter (OD)
It is worth remembering the classification of applications according to ISO 10508 standard: class 1 for domestic hot water (60/80/95°C), class 2 for domestic hot water (70/80/95°C), class 4 for underfloor heating (60/70/100°C) and class 5 for radiator heating (80/90/100°C).
