Professional feed-through terminal block for demanding electrical installations

The WAGO 284 series feed-through terminal block is a compact solution for professionals installing building and industrial switchgear. Thanks to CAGE CLAMP® technology, it ensures rapid installation of solid, fine-stranded, and multi-stranded conductors with cross-sections of 0.2-10 mm² without the need for ferrule end sleeves.

Design and connection technology

At the heart of the device is the patented CAGE CLAMP® system, which enables secure conductor connection via a spring-loaded clamping mechanism. This technology eliminates the need for tools during installation—simply insert the stripped conductor into the connection opening, and the spring will automatically provide a permanent connection.

The housing, made of thermoplastic, guarantees high mechanical and chemical resistance. The compact design with dimensions of 10 × 52 × 41.5 mm allows for high-density packing in switchgear while maintaining full functionality.

Electrical parameters and operating conditions

The device operates at a rated voltage of 800 V and a current of 57 A, making it suitable for most building and industrial applications. An operating temperature range of up to 105°C allows for installation even in harsh environmental conditions.

The internal architecture features two terminals per level, allowing for the creation of feed-through connections between adjacent circuits. Each terminal handles the full range of conductor cross-sections—from thin 0.2 mm² to thick 10 mm².

Materials and operational safety

The insulating element, manufactured according to the UL94 V0 standard, ensures the highest level of flame retardancy. The thermoplastic is characterized by dimensional stability across a wide temperature range and resistance to typical chemicals used in electrical installations.

Side openings for markers allow for easy labeling of each circuit—crucial for the subsequent operation and maintenance of the installation.

Regulatory compliance and certificates

The terminal block meets the requirements of the IEC/EN 60947-7-1 standard, confirming its safety for use in professional installations. The product has an ETIM classification as "Feed-through terminal block" and EAN code 4044918323383.

Mounting is performed on a standard DIN TH-35 mm rail (both 35×15 and 35×7.5 profiles), ensuring compatibility with most modular switchgear available on the European market.
