The Tigris K5 end cap with a diameter of 16 mm is a professional fitting designed for potable water installations as well as central heating and cooling systems. The product belongs to the proven Tigris K5 series based on radial crimping technology, which ensures reliable connections while improving the medium flow characteristics.

The fitting is made of polyphenylsulfone (PPSU) - a high-performance plastic with exceptional resistance to corrosion and deposits. The material features a heat deflection temperature above 200°C and a processing temperature of 360°C, ensuring dimensional stability under operating conditions.
The crimp coupling connection type with a nominal diameter DN 12 provides secure fastening of multilayer pipes. The component is equipped with a seal made of ethylene-propylene-diene monomer rubber (EPDM), which maintains tightness over many years of operation.
The design incorporates a hexagonal fitting stem, which reduces the insertion force during installation, facilitating work for installers. The slim construction of the finished connection significantly simplifies subsequent pipe insulation - unlike PP-welded solutions where the fitting is thicker than the pipe.
Operating Parameters and Advanced Technologies
The end cap operates within a temperature range of 0°C to 70°C at a maximum working pressure of 10 bar. For short-term loads, a temperature of 100°C for up to 100 hours of operation is permissible. Under constant load conditions, the product withstands 85°C at 6 bar pressure and 70°C at 10 bar pressure.
The system utilizes OPTIFLOW technology, which optimizes medium flow through the fitting, ensuring low pressure losses. Additionally, the component is equipped with the Acoustic Leak Alert system - an acoustic leak detection function enabling quick localization of leak sources during air tightness tests.
Simple Installation and Full Compatibility
Installation of the end cap takes place in three simple steps without the need for pipe deburring or calibration:
- Cutting the pipe at the appropriate location,
- Inserting the fitting into the pipe,
- Crimping the connection.
The component is 100% compatible with existing Wavin multilayer composite pipe systems, enabling easy creation of permanently tight pipe connections within a unified installation system.
The product possesses quality certificates confirming its suitability for contact with potable water - including the DVGW quality mark for water and the KIWA certificate. Threads are reinforced with lead-free DZR brass inserts (in accordance with standard PN EN 12165), ensuring high durability and full compliance with potable water quality requirements.
