Construction and purpose of the ZQV 4N/4 jumper

A jumper (also known as a cross connector or transverse rail connector) is used to create electrical connections between adjacent terminals in a terminal block - without the need for additional wires. Simply slide it onto the contacts to connect potentials and distribute signals or power among several circuits.

The ZQV 4N/4 model from Weidmüller includes 4 poles (bridging four adjacent terminals) and is plug-in mounted - which means quick installation/removal without tools. The orange color facilitates the identification of the jumper path on the rail.

Electrical parameters and operating conditions

The connector operates at a rated voltage of up to 400 V and a continuous current of 32 A. The contact pitch is 6.1 mm (metric pitch), and the total width of the element is 22.1 mm - fitting standard terminal strips with this pitch.
