Construction and design

The ZQV 2.5N/3 RD cross connector is used to create electrical connections between adjacent terminals in control cabinets and switchboards - it enables potential separation or signal transmission through terminal blocks without the need for additional wires. It is inserted via plug-in connection onto the terminals, allowing for quick assembly and disassembly without tools - compared to screw-type solutions, it saves a lot of time during installation.

Made of red Wemid plastic - this material provides high dielectric strength and meets the UL 94 V-0 flammability standard, which means self-extinguishing properties and limited flame spread. The housing is insulated and equipped with finger protection, so even during service work, the risk of accidental contact with conductive elements is minimized.

The dimensions are compact - width 13 mm, height 2,8 mm, depth 24,7 mm. The contact pitch is 5,1 mm, which corresponds to the standard terminal spacing of the A (PUSH IN) and W (screw) series from this manufacturer.

Electrical operating parameters

The rated continuous current is 24 A, and the rated voltage is 400 V. The product is confirmed as an Ex-e explosion-proof version (protection against ignition in explosive atmospheres), which extends its range of applications to industrial installations.

The continuous operating temperature ranges from -60°C to +130°C, and the ambient temperature during operation is from -5°C to +40°C. Storage is permissible between -25°C and +55°C.

Limitations when modifying the cross connector

For stability and thermal reasons, a maximum of 60% of the contact elements of the cross connector can be separated - it cannot be cut into an arbitrary number of segments. Every use of the cross connector reduces the permissible rated voltage to 400 V. If the cross connector is cut and used as a section with uninsulated cutting edges, the voltage drops to 25 V.

Application and compatibility

The cross connector is suitable for A (PUSH IN) and W (screw) series terminals with a wire cross-section up to 2,5 mm². The three-point configuration allows for the simultaneous connection of three adjacent terminals - useful for building busbars, grouping of earth/ground connections, or creating common potentials for multiple circuits.

The product is standardly supplied in packs of 60 pcs. - facilitating inventory management for larger installations.

It complies with the RoHS directive (no SVHC substances above 0.1% by weight) and has confirmation of compliance with the EN 45545-2 standard for railway applications.
