Protection and finishing of the terminal block assembly
A Weidmüller end plate closes the open side of the last terminal module before the end bracket - thus serving both a functional and safety role. Its primary task is to ensure the correct operation of the modular terminal and maintain the specified voltage rating. Mounted on the outermost terminal block, it guarantees protection against contact with live parts - making the end terminal finger-proof.
Additionally, the plate allows for the optical separation of electrical circuits, which helps avoid wiring errors - particularly useful in complex control cabinets with multiple circuits.
Material and fire resistance
Made of Wemid plastic - it is characterized by high thermal and mechanical strength. The UL 94 V-0 flammability classification means that the material self-extinguishes and does not drip after the flame is removed - which is crucial in industrial applications where fire resistance is required.
The continuous operating temperature range is from -60°C to 130°C, and the storage temperature is within the range of 10-40°C. Such a wide range makes the plate suitable for both industrial cold storage and high-temperature zones.
Dimensions and mounting method
The plate has a height of 114,1 mm, a width of 2,1 mm, and a depth of 57,1 mm - dimensions tailored to the Weidmüller A series terminals on DIN rail. Mounting is done via a snap-on system - simply slide the plate onto the last module without using tools. This significantly accelerates installation work and eliminates the risk of the component loosening during operation.
The plate is designed for use with spring terminals mounted on DIN rail - it is standard equipment when constructing complete terminal strips in switchgear and control cabinets.
It complies with RoHS directive requirements and does not contain SVHC substances as of January 2020.
