Solution for demanding electrical installations

The ZDU series feed-through terminal block from Weidmüller is a component designed for professional applications in industrial control panels and installations requiring a reliable electrical connection. The design based on tension clamp spring technology eliminates the need for screw tightening - simply insert the wire into the opening, where the spring automatically presses it and maintains constant pressure even during vibrations or temperature changes.

The housing made of Wemid thermoplastic provides high dielectric strength and meets the UL94 V-0 flammability rating, which means the material is self-extinguishing after the fire source is removed - a crucial feature in the context of installation fire safety.

Operating parameters and current rating

The device operates with a rated current of 41 A at a voltage of 800 V AC/DC. The manufacturer also allows a momentary conductor load of up to 57 A, providing a reserve for short-term overloads.

The range of supported cross-sections includes solid conductors from 0.22 to 10 mm² and stranded conductors (with or without ferrule) from 0.5 to 6 mm². This flexibility allows for the use of a single type of terminal block in both control and power circuits.

ATEX, IECEx, and market certificates

The Ex-e (EEx e) explosion-proof design, confirmed by ATEX (DEMKO15ATEX1467U) and IECEx (IECEXULD15.0008U) certificates, enables installation in zones at risk of gas and dust explosions. The II 2 G D designation defines the range of permitted zones.

In the US market, the product holds the cURus (E60693) certificate, and in Canada - CSA (200039-1152892). For marine applications, the Lloyd's Register certificate is available, and for railway applications - compliance with EN 45545-2.

Maximum parameters in the ATEX version are 550 V and 39 A with a conductor cross-section of up to 10 mm².

Mounting on TH-35 rail

The terminal block with a width of 8.1 mm is mounted on the TH-35 (TS 35) DIN rail via insertion - the latch automatically locks the position. The housing height is 65 mm, and the depth is 45 mm.

To close a series of terminal blocks, an end plate (e.g., ZAP/TW 5 BL) is required. Expanding the installation with potential bridging is possible thanks to the ZQV series insulated jumpers (current 41 A).

The operating temperature range from -50°C to +120°C allows for installation in both industrial cold storage and near heat sources generated by controllers or drives.
