Shut-off Valve – Reliable Isolation for Installations
This cast iron shut-off valve, GLO Fig. 215, is a robust solution for flow isolation in various systems. Manufactured from high-quality gray cast iron EN-GJL-250, it ensures durability and corrosion resistance. Designed for use with water (hot, cold, and cooling) and steam, it performs reliably in both residential buildings and demanding industrial environments.
The valve features a high level of tightness (Class A per EN 12266-1), guaranteeing safety and minimizing leakage risk. Flanges are machined in accordance with EN 1092-2 for body material group A, and the face-to-face dimension complies with EN 558-1 Series 1. The valve meets the requirements of the Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC and carries CE marking for DN 32.
Construction and Materials
Designed for long-term, trouble-free operation, the valve features a detachable stem-to-disc connection secured by a screw, facilitating maintenance. The stem is made of brass, while the disc and body ring are made of bronze — a combination ensuring resistance to wear and corrosion. The selected materials guarantee reliable performance even under harsh conditions.
Applications and Compatibility
This valve is suitable for use in:
- Hot, cold, and cooling water systems
- Steam systems
- Industrial processes
- District heating
- Power generation
Additionally, the valve’s technical data is preloaded into popular engineering software libraries: Instal-therm, Instal-san, Audytor C.O. 3.8, and Audytor H2O 1.5 — simplifying design and ensuring accurate system selection. Integration with these platforms saves time and guarantees data accuracy.
The valve is rated for a maximum working pressure of 16 bar (PN 16 bar). The nominal diameter DN 20 provides sufficient flow capacity for a wide range of applications. This valve is not intended for gases.
