Polish law does not require the installation of an earth electrode, but it is worth installing it for safety reasons. The costs of the entire investment rarely exceed PLN 10,000, which is not a large amount compared to losses caused by overvoltage or lightning strikes. Investors who decide to install an earth electrode should read the content of the PN-EN 62305-3 standard[4]. Therefore, one of the most important parameters of the hoop iron is its resistance to rusting. To ensure it, various solutions are used. One of them is to make the hoop from stainless steel, which, however, significantly increases the costs of its production and affects the physical properties of the element.
