Which composter should I choose?

When choosing a composter, you can follow several criteria. First of all , its capacity will be important, adjusted to the demand for ready-made fertilizer , but also to the availability of organic input. It is worth focusing on the first one, because filling it should never be a problem - just mow the grass once and you will have more than you need.

As for the material, the choice is limited to wood and plastic . You can laugh that wood will turn into compost over time, but maybe it's better, because at least it is natural and truly ecological, much more than plastic, even recycled and suitable for it.

Of course, we leave the choice to potential buyers and users, but to make it easier, we present some of the most popular and practical models of composters from the range of Graf and its Garantia brand. You won't make a mistake with our guide and you'll definitely find the product that best suits your expectations.

Plastic composter

Adding biomass to the garden composter A wide selection of shapes, sizes and functions are the basic advantages of composters made of plastic. Below is a selection of versatile and recommended models.

THERMO-KING composter 400 l

Get out of the way, herring, because the king is coming! The Graf Thermo-King 400L composter in the "rich" version, in which the composting process is optimized thanks to the aeration system and thermal walls made of a plastic called thermolen, an original solution of the Garantia brand. The material is, of course, recycled. Filling takes place through two flaps, and the cover regulating air circulation protects the container against overturning by strong wind. Available capacities: 400, 600 or 900 l.

THERMO-STAR 400 l composter

If the previous composter in our list was the king, this one is the star! It may seem the same, but not the same... The integrated cover makes filling easier, and flaps on each side make it easier to empty the finished fertilizer. The composting process itself is accelerated thanks to ventilation holes and the use of innovative thermolen material in the construction , which ensures good thermal insulation thanks to the foam structure. The Graf Thermo-Star 400 L composter is waterproof and resistant to ultraviolet radiation. Available capacities: 400, 600 or 1000 l.

ECO-KING composter 400 l

Attention, the king of economics and ecology is coming! This Graf ECO-King 400 L composter ensures not only ergonomic operation and quick conversion of organic input into ready-to-use natural fertilizer , but also an unbeatable price-quality ratio. All those who intend to produce compost all year round should pay attention to it. The material from which the container is made is in this case PP (polypropylene), naturally recycled. Available colors: green or black. Capacity 400 or 600 l.

ECO-MASTER composter 300 l

If not a king and not a star, then maybe a champion? Here you go! This relatively small Graf ECO-Master 300 L composter (capacity 300 or 450 l) has a one-piece flap for filling with biomass, a flap with a handle for removing the finished fertilizer, ventilation holes and wind protection . It takes up little space and is made of polypropylene (PP). Is it recycled? Are you still asking?

RAPID 280 l composter with two-piece lid and base

Graf Rapid 280 L composter made of 100% recycled plastic. It is 89 cm high and has a capacity of 280 l. Thanks to the hinged lid at the top, it is easy to fill, while the finished compost can be easily collected thanks to the flap at the bottom of the container . Adjusting air circulation allows you to influence the rate of composting of the batch and also makes the container resistant to gusts of wind. A model of this size successfully meets the needs of a family of four.

An accessory base can be purchased for all models presented.

Wooden composter

Wooden garden composter We encounter a problem here, because there are no such products in the Onninen wholesale offer. We do not mean to say that it is not worth choosing a wooden composter, because at least due to the material they are made of, they are worthy of attention (100% natural!), BUT... models made of wood are not as practical and versatile as plastic ones , because the wood itself it is not such a plastic and easy-to-form material. However, if all that is needed is a simple box in which to produce compost to fertilize a vegetable patch in a ROD plot, often nothing else is needed.

Single or two-chamber composter?

The last dilemma is the number of chambers in our composter. If the available space allows it, it is worth considering a two-chamber one. In such a system, one chamber is something like a preliminary chamber where compostable material is poured, the other one stores ready-made fertilizer, which is still "maturing" there, undergoing complete decomposition. The entire process can be supported and accelerated by using appropriate biological and enzymatic preparations . The final product should smell of fresh earth and not stick to your hands. However, two-chamber composters are a solution for more advanced gardening fans , so if you don't have a place to put one, there's nothing to worry about. Whichever of the models we recommend you choose, you will choose well!
