Due to the economic aspect and ensuring maximum efficiency, the pipes connecting the split air conditioning units require insulation to prevent the refrigerant from heating up and to protect against condensation of water vapor on the cold pipes with the refrigerant. Installations passing through rooms in a building may contribute to the spread of fire, cause dangerous smoke, or endanger the health of people staying inside by emitting toxic gases or melting and falling with burning drops on evacuated people.
To prevent such dangers, the new Tubolit Split has a high reaction to fire class B-s1, d0, which means that it is classified as a material that is difficult to ignite. Additionally, the markings s1 and d0 correspond to the highest possible classes regarding the formation of smoke (class s) and the formation of burning drops or waste (class d), respectively. The s1 class is only awarded to products that emit a very limited amount of combustion gases, while the d0 class means the complete absence of burning drops.
These parameters provide a much greater level of safety in the event of a fire and enable a longer evacuation time, which may be of key importance for the health and life of people staying in the building. It is worth remembering that although we consider fire itself to be the main danger, excessive and toxic smoke in rooms that prevents escape is responsible for approximately 2/3 of fire deaths.
