Geberit CleanLine linear drain – form and function

Added: Wednesday, 9/7/2022

The shower space is no longer associated with a classic cabin with a shower tray or an oilcloth curtain. Now, instead of being separated from the rest of the bathroom by a cabin wall, it is permanently linked to the interior design and is intended to be its aesthetic complement. The shower cabin should also be functional and comfortable, i.e. convenient to use, pleasant to the touch and easy to keep clean.

Before choosing the type of linear drain, check whether the solution fits the designed shower. For this purpose, it is necessary to determine the thickness of the tile together with the adhesive layer . The range of available solutions is presented below:

What should you pay attention to at the assembly planning stage?

During assembly work, pay attention to:

  1. Selection of the installation kit: appropriate to the screed at the inlet (range 65-90 mm or 90-220 mm). Please remember that the drain is slightly lowered in relation to the floor .
  2. Geberit CleanLine linear drains - determining the degree of floor slope Positioning the drain and slope of the shower floor: The integrated flexible sealing foil means that the Geberit CleanLine collector gutter can be safely placed both right next to the wall and in the middle of the shower area. It is important to properly slope the shower floor . Additionally, it is recommended to gently press the collecting gutter during installation in fresh mortar so as to slightly recess the central part in relation to the edges - then there will be no standing water anywhere in the gutter.
  3. Cutting the gutter to the appropriate length: the collecting gutter is usually placed across the entire width of the shower zone, although it often needs to be cut. Please remember that after cutting the end of the gutter, it is secured with special caps , available in the purchased set.
  4. Geberit CleanLine linear drains - lowering the grate relative to the floor surface Lowering the gutter in relation to the floor: install the linear drain in such a way that after finishing the floor, the level of the upper surface of the collecting gutter is lowered by 1-2 mm in relation to the ceramic tiles .
  5. Waterproofing: the installation kit is integrated with a sealing foil, injected into the drain directly during production, making the drain insulation reliable. The foil should be glued into the sealing mortar layer.
