Modern heating control with SALUS Controls

Added: Monday, 8/9/2021

Recently, everyday comfort has taken on additional importance. We spend long hours at home, we no longer just relax and lead family life there - in many cases our homes have become offices and workplaces. How to adapt the interior to your needs - depending on your lifestyle and time of day? We suggest: using automatic control.

Modern heating control with SALUS Controls

Control automation

Building automation and the intelligent SALUS Smart Home system by SALUS Controls are solutions that will help optimize the operation of home appliances. First of all, thanks to appropriately programmed operating scenarios (OneTouch rules), temperature controllers, smart plugs and intelligent relays can control not only the heating individually in each room, but also the lighting and ON/OFF electrical devices. You can read more about it here

In addition, the free SALUS Smart Home web application allows you to control your home online and records energy consumption by devices operating at home, indicating the largest sources of energy consumption. Conscription history allows you to always keep your finger on the pulse. In the SALUS Smart Home application, we can also correct the heating values or turn off the equipment, even if we are hundreds of kilometers away from it.

Controlling central heating installations via the Internet has a wide range of applications. Regulating heating parameters using this method works not only in single-family houses, multi-family houses and rented premises, but also - due to the ability to easily control several systems at the same time - in hotels and other accommodation facilities. The "heart" of the control system - the Salus iT600RF UGE600 internet gateway - supports many rooms and regulators at the same time (up to 100 devices can be paired with one gateway).

What are the benefits of installing heating control devices?

  • saving heating fuel and money; temperature control = charge control
  • natural environment preservation; lower emission of combustion products into the atmosphere
  • optimal interior temperature; avoiding overheating and cooling of interiors
  • temperature adapted to the functions of the rooms and the lifestyle of the residents
  • thermal comfort contributing to better well-being of household members

WT 2021 and heating control

Due to the constant development of technology and construction, every few years the Ministry of Infrastructure updates the guidelines allowing buildings to be used in terms of the lowest possible energy losses (standards related to thermal insulation and energy saving). At the beginning of 2021, another update (WT 2021) entered into force, which tightens the current values of the coefficients: heat transfer (UP) and demand for initial non-renewable energy (EP).

How does this influence the choice of heating device?

Renewable energy sources contribute most to reducing the EP index, and as a result, heat pumps will become more popular, as they enable a large share of renewable energy in the building's energy balance. The technical requirements contained in WT 2021 focus on renewable and ecological heat sources, so low-temperature heating installations and control automation become of great importance.

It is worth knowing that heat pumps achieve their best efficiency and functionality in low-temperature systems ( underfloor heating ). In turn, underfloor heating requires appropriate control . Not to mention the fact that installing controllers in each room adjusts the temperature in the house to the user's needs, limiting unecological and costly overload states.

SALUS Controls offers modern products for controlling underfloor heating - wired, wireless, via the Internet. Savings, ecology and increased thermal comfort are the main benefits resulting from the use of our devices.
