There has been a lot of information circulating about government subsidies for photovoltaic installations installed by individuals. The government currently maintains that the Mój Prąd 5.0 program will start in the second half of April this year.

Mój Prąd is a subsidy program for photovoltaic installations - and in the latest edition 5.0 also for heat pumps and solar collectors - installed by individuals to meet their own energy needs. Subsidies make this investment, friendly to the environment and one's own wallet, even more profitable.
When does the application process for the Mój Prąd 5.0 program start?
According to government information, applications for subsidies from the My Electricity 5.0 program are to be launched in the coming days, in the second half of April 2023. The Energy Consulting Project's announcements indicate that this option will be launched on Earth Day, April 22.

Funding for photovoltaics in the My Electricity 5.0 program
Similarly to previous editions, Mój Prąd 5.0 will also be aimed at individuals who have a photovoltaic installation on the roof of a single-family building. There will be no income criterion. It will also be possible to obtain photovoltaic subsidies, as before, regardless of what the house is heated with. The net-billing system will remain in place, so only those who installed photovoltaic installations after April 1, 2022 or those who switch from the discount system to the net-billing system will be able to receive funds.
As for the amounts of subsidies, according to the announcements of Paweł Mirowski, deputy president of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, they will amount to:
- for a photovoltaic installation without additional elements - up to PLN 6,000;
- for a photovoltaic installation with another additional device - up to PLN 7,000;
- for heat storage - up to PLN 5,000;
- for energy storage - up to PLN 16,000;
- for the HEMS/EMS system - up to PLN 3,000.
Importantly, the amount of subsidy for a specific project cannot exceed 50% of its eligible costs.
When should you install photovoltaics to benefit from the subsidy?
Photovoltaics is becoming increasingly popular year by year, due to positive opinions and available subsidies. People interested in this solution probably know that previous editions of the Mój Prąd program were quickly used up; this was due to the small budget. Since in the current edition, as before, subsidies are granted in the order of applications, until the pool of funds is exhausted, the application should be submitted as soon as possible after such a possibility is launched.
The whole process looks like this:
- selection of an installation company and agreement with them on the details of the investment, including the desire to use the Mój Prąd 5.0 program
- installation of a photovoltaic system;
- reporting to the power plant and replacing meters;
- submitting an application to the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management for funding from the Mój Prąd 5.0 programme; this is usually done by specialists from the company installing the photovoltaic installation, but you can also do it yourself;
- monitoring the status of the application and waiting for the transfer of funds.
Is Mój Prąd 5.0 the last chance for subsidies?
It is definitely better to hurry up and take advantage. The government will probably announce whether there will be further editions of the Mój Prąd program (or a new program will be created on different terms), and therefore whether there will be a possibility of obtaining subsidies for the installation of photovoltaic installations, only after the pool of funds earmarked for 2023 has been exhausted. Which will most likely happen quickly.
As of today, it is not possible to answer with certainty the question of whether Mój Prąd 5.0 is the last chance for subsidies, but such a risk exists.
Recommended photovoltaic inverters in the plumbing and electrical wholesaler Onninen
In addition to applying for funding, it is also important to choose a photovoltaic installation. Let's look at some examples of photovoltaic inverters that can be subsidized and are available at the Onninen wholesaler:
GOODWE GW5K-ET PLUS Hybrid Inverter - advanced hybrid inverter with powerful capabilities. Thanks to passive cooling and the lack of fans, it is very quiet. It has advanced MPPT technology, allowing for maximizing the efficiency of solar panels and increasing electricity production. Thanks to the intelligent battery charging function, the user has full control over the charging process and use of the energy stored in the batteries. The inverter uses power optimization technology, which, thanks to the built-in optimizer, allows the device's output to be adjusted to the current energy consumption, which allows for reducing energy costs.
Huawei FusionSolar Inverter - three-phase, 2-MPPT High Current. It has built-in communication (RS485, WLAN via Smart Dongle), DC disconnect, 8kW/8.8kVA, AC and DC surge arresters type II and battery charging interface.
