The latest NIBE heat pumps with ecological refrigerants R290 and R32

Unfavorable climate changes and increasing air pollution are a fact, as are dwindling natural resources and their rapidly rising prices. In this situation, it is necessary to take action to limit the extraction of fossil fuels - in favor of obtaining renewable energy. The best answer to these challenges are heat pumps, which obtain as much as 80% of their energy from nature (air, ground, etc.). These devices ensure heating of buildings in winter, cooling in summer, provide hot water, and additionally allow to significantly reduce heating costs. Heat pumps can provide the highest - among all available heat sources - energy efficiency and therefore the lowest operating costs, and we can obtain funding for their purchase and installation under government programs.

NIBE heat pumps with ecological heating medium

For the heat pump to operate, it must be equipped with a refrigerant, which is an energy carrier and continuously circulates around the device, subject to changes in its thermodynamic state. Natural refrigerants are the most promising refrigerants. They are characterized by a zero ODP coefficient (an indicator called the ozone layer depletion potential) and the lowest GWP values (greenhouse effect potential). Compared to all available refrigerants, the best refrigerant is R290 (propane) due to its minimal impact on the environment: GWP = 3 and ODP = 0.

Ecological R290 in NIBE S2125 heat pumps

The NIBE S2125 heat pump has recently joined the wide range of NIBE products. The new air/water heat pump is based on the natural R290 refrigerant, which allows for even better operating parameters (A+++).

NIBE S2125 heat pump NIBE S2125 is a monoblock unit in which the entire thermodynamic circuit is located in one device located outside the building, and in addition, the device is supplied with an automatic gas separator - the use of the R290 refrigerant is therefore a safe solution. One of the most important advantages of R290, compared to other refrigerants, is its high efficiency in terms of quantity as well as in terms of efficiency. It has a low boiling point, which, combined with the technical solutions in the device, means that the NIBE S2125 heat pump can operate even at an external temperature of up to -25°.   C . Thus, the NIBE S2125 heat pump achieves: the highest efficiency COP up to 5.2, the heating power and cooling efficiency used by heat pump users in the summer have also increased. Among other devices on the market, NIBE S2125 is also distinguished by a low noise level of 38 dB at a distance of 2 m and a high supply temperature of the heating system up to 75°   C, with minimal impact on the environment (GWP=3).

The NIBE S2125 inverter heat pump, combined with the latest S series controller, automatically adapts to the current heat demand, and its operation can be managed via a smartphone or tablet . Using SMART HOME technology - automatic settings, remote operation, e.g. via a smartphone application or even voice - we can optimize the operation of the device, and thus heat or cool the house or correct the ventilation efficiency only when needed.

The NIBE S2125 unit is available in two models:NibeS2125-8 air heat pump and Nibe S2125-12 air heat pump .

NIBE AMS 20 with R32 factor

NIBE AMS 20 heat pump Another example of a device operating on an ecological refrigerant is the latest NIBE AMS 20 air heat pump - an external unit of the NIBE SPLIT heat pump, which works in combination with the NIBE HBS 20-6 indoor hydrobox unit and the NIBE SMO controller. The device reaches a maximum heating power of up to 8 kW and has a built-in cooling function.

NIBE SPLIT heat pumps are devices in which the refrigeration system is divided into two units: external NIBE AMS equipped with an inverter compressor and internal, which is selected depending on the function of the system. These units are connected by a piping system filled with refrigerant. In the case of the NIBE AMS 20-6 air heat pump, it is the new generation R32 refrigerant . R32 has an almost 70% lower global warming potential (GWP) compared to R410A, and ODP value = 0. Due to its properties, R32 offers significant energy efficiency benefits. The NIBE SPLIT heat pump provides up to 58° C to power the heating system from the operation of the compressor itself , and with an additional heat source up to 65° C.

Thanks to the use of inverter technology in NIBE SPLIT heat pumps, the compressor power is adjusted to the building's current heat demand , thanks to which these devices provide higher operating efficiency than traditional pumps. The COP efficiency of the NIBE AMS 20-6 air heat pump is 5.42 at A7/W35 according to EN14511. This technology ensures high durability, greater comfort and lower power consumption, which translates into low operating costs .
