Do you want to set up a photovoltaic plant , but you don't know what formalities you need to take care of? The Onninen Technical Consulting Department has prepared a knowledge pill that will help you go through all stages of the application. We invite you to read!

Onninen Photovoltaics - documents and funding

Microinstallation and discounts - general information

A micro-installation is an installation with a total installed power of not more than 50 kW, which is connected to a power grid with a rated voltage lower than 110 kV.

The entity applying for the connection of a micro-installation may be:

  • a natural person who is not an entrepreneur within the meaning of the Act on Freedom of Business Activity,
  • a natural person running a business,
  • other legal entities.

The operator is obliged to connect the micro-installation - the connection takes place upon notification, and should also respond to the request within 30 days in the case of micro-installations. There is no fee for connecting micro-installations to the power grid.

The discount system in force in Poland consists of the so-called net-metering, which enables the settlement of energy produced and fed into the network on an annual basis. This means that the owner of a micro-installation can introduce the surplus of energy produced into the network and then collect it. For example, energy from a photovoltaic micro-installation is produced only during the day, unused energy goes to the grid, from where we can recover it in the evening (when production stops).

Discount in the case of micro-installations:

  • up to 10 kW - is 0.8 kWh for each 1 kWh of energy introduced into the network,
  • above 10 kW – is 0.7 kWh for each 1 kWh of energy introduced into the network.

Submitting an application for funding under the "My Electricity" program

Stage 1. Submitting an application for connection to the network

Required documents:

  • Application for connection to the network / notification of the installation - form dependent on the energy supplier TAURON/ENERGIA/PGE - various forms.
  • Annex C technical specifications
  • Datasheets of photovoltaic modules and inverters
  • Declaration of conformity compliance for modules and declaration of conformity for the inverter
  • Diagram of a photovoltaic installation
  • Declaration of the installer of the micro-installation (qualification certificate group E, or RES certificate of the Office of Technical Inspection, or construction permits)

Stage 2. Submitting an application for funding

Required documents:

  • Certificate of the Distribution Network Operator (DSO), confirming the connection of the installation (completed by the energy specialist)
  • Copies of invoices for installation, assembly and materials and equipment necessary for installation
  • Proof of payment of the invoice or declaration of payment
  • Data from the comprehensive contract with the DSO (the contract is not an attachment, you only need its number and date of conclusion/change after installation of the bidirectional meter)

Currently, the application is submitted only electronically via the website https://mojprad.gov.pl/ , a trusted profile or e-ID is required to submit the application. You can apply for a subsidy in the "My Electricity" program if:

  • You meet the definition of a Beneficiary, i.e. you are a natural person generating electricity for your own needs and who has concluded a comprehensive agreement (with the Distribution Network Operator - DSO, energy company) regulating issues related to the introduction of electricity generated in a micro-installation into the network;
  • Your installation is already completed and connected to the power grid (e.g. you have a bidirectional meter);
  • Your photovoltaic installation has a capacity of 2-10 kW and is intended for residential purposes;
  • You have incurred expenses since July 23, 2019 and the installation was not completed before that date;
  • Your investment is not an extension of an existing installation;
