Rainwater storage with a subsidy. Systems of various Roth solutions

Added: Monday, 10/4/2021

Thanks to the form of financial support under the Moja Woda program, rainwater tanks have become extremely popular overnight. Based on the data after the end of stage 1 of the program, we know how popular this edition was. The value of submitted applications for approximately 25,000 installations exceeded the available budget of PLN 100 million.

Rainwater storage

This year's summer in Poland was "typically Polish" and the holiday months were full of rain, which turned out to be a strong opponent, causing flooding and flooding. Record daily rainfall totals have been recorded this year in many areas of Poland. The average annual rainfall in Poland is 600 mm/m 2 . However, please note
that the actual amount may be several dozen percent higher or lower, depending
depending on the region of the country, e.g. in mountainous areas, the average rainfall exceeds even 1000 mm. The most rainfall falls in summer, with approximately 80 mm of rain falling in July, and the least in January - ~30 mm.

Help in reducing the risk of flooding, but also in mitigating the effects of drought in Poland (it is estimated that there is up to 3 times less water per inhabitant per year than in other EU countries) is to be provided by the currently ongoing second edition of the program of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Economy. Subsidized water
up to PLN 5,000 for home installations collecting rainwater.

Support under the program covered the purchase, assembly, construction and commissioning of installations allowing for the management of rainwater or meltwater on the property. Rainwater storage tanks and systems have been available on the market for many years. However, economic reasons determined the lack or little interest in this type of installations. Today we will present solutions for rainwater use installations that can apply for a refund, offered by Roth to its clients.

Proposed market offer of Roth rainwater tanks

The Roth brand has many years of experience in the production of polyethylene products, especially in the production of multi-layer pipes, including polyethylene tanks for heating oil, rainwater and drinking water. When planning its products, Roth takes into account aspects of functionality, but in harmony with the environment. So that each installation can gain supporters based on the belief that the purchased product is not only fully modern, but also part of an ecologically oriented household.

Roth's rainwater storage offer includes above-ground tanks with capacities of 750/1100/1500/2000 l, underground tanks 900/1500/3500/5000 l and complete systems equipped with rainwater installation control.

Rainwater storage

A single above-ground or underground tank will work well for a small household or summer house. Approximately 25 m2 of covered roof area corresponds to no more than 1 m3 of tank volume. The advantage of these tanks is also the possibility of increasing the storage capacity by creating batteries using system equipment in the form of elbows and connection tees or universal elements with a quick connector and a PE water pipe. Each above-ground and underground tank is equipped with an inspection hole, a DN 100 sewage connector and upper connectors with the possibility of connecting a DN 50 pipe.

Rainwater storage Above-ground tanks also include tanks with an overflow siphon and tanks without a siphon, which can be combined into batteries. Any equipment for drawing water from an above-ground tank, such as a tap, should be attached to the tank wall via the lower connection flange. To protect against sunlight and algae growth, the tanks are made of dark green polyethylene. In each case of the tank, i.e. regardless of the type: aboveground/underground, a free overflow should be provided to drain excess accumulated water, and the tanks should be emptied in the winter.

Garten, Haustechnik I, Haustechnik II, Haustechnik ECO package are intended for
to manage rainwater for domestic and commercial purposes, i.e. flushing the toilet, washing, cleaning, watering the garden. Each system is based on a PEHD Twinbloc tank(s) with an overflow siphon DN 100 with protection against access by small animals and a telescopic inspection well with a lid up to 200 kg. Equipping the packages (except the Garten package) with a control device with a pump enables water consumption
from the tank and introducing it to an independent water supply system (toilet, washing machine).

The control system constantly monitors the water level in the tank. As soon as the water level exceeds a certain level, the device reacts visually with a red LED light and acoustically with an intermittent sound. The control system also automatically orders the replacement of water collected in the so-called working tank. This prevents possible long periods of water outage.

The system control device should be placed, e.g. in the building's utility room. In the event of a periodic lack of rainwater in the tank (sensor,
detects the lack of water in the rainwater tank via the electronic control system) and the tap water supply system is opened.

Water flowing into the tank carries mechanical impurities, which are stopped by a calmed inlet, thanks to which the water stream, falling down the pipe into the tank, slows down and then changes direction and flows upwards.

Contaminants are caught by a flow filter. Contaminants introduced by water and remaining on the filter cartridge are periodically transported out of the tank by the existing contaminants
heavy rainfall from time to time; then the water flowing through the pipes at high speed cleans the filter insert. Only pollutant-free rainwater flows into the internal installation.

The decision to install a rainwater management system should be made at the design stage of the residential building, because it is necessary to design a separate water supply system that uses rainwater.

The quality and stability of the offered Roth rainwater storage tanks is supported by a 20-year manufacturer's warranty. This means certainty and safety of using products for many years, benefiting the environment and your wallet.
