According to current research carried out in cooperation with the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management in Warsaw, Wrocław University of Science and Technology and Białystok University of Technology, storing rainwater for up to 30 days allows for its later use in everyday life.
Rainwater can be successfully used for almost half of the activities that we normally use tap water for. Rainwater can be used for:
- watering the garden,
- washing cars, driveways and sidewalks,
- flushing toilets,
- washing plates,
- power supply for swimming pools and ponds.
Rainwater is characterized by an exceptionally low hardness coefficient, neutral PH and the absence of chlorine, lime, iron and other harmful conditioning substances.
A different problem is characteristic of plots located on lands that are clay and silt soil categories, which are characterized by low permeability of rainwater. On such plots, the problem is the lack of possibility of effective drainage of rainwater through the soil during heavy rains. In such a case, a rainwater tank will allow for effective collection of excess water and prevent the formation of unsightly mud, water pools or local flooding.
