The Research and Development Center, which was established at the end of 2020 in Sosnowiec, is a modern initiative of Zetkama. What can be found in Zetkama's modern laboratory?
All stations designed at the Zetkama Research and Development Center are intended for testing valves and examining their operation in various conditions .
The laboratory included:
- a station for testing the flow of air valves,
- a stand for functional testing of air valves,
- backpressure test station (water and air tests with static and dynamic backpressure),
- a station for testing the flow of water valves,
- station for functional testing of water valves.
The Research and Development Centre has an EU Certificate of Conformity, which covers both the research installation and the special SAFETY safety system, protecting the equipment and crew against undesirable pressure changes and operator errors.
What is the purpose of the Zetkama laboratory in Sosnowiec?
The Zetkama Research and Development Center is primarily intended to examine the operating characteristics of safety valves. It also conducts general tests of industrial fittings . The laboratory installation has been designed in a way that allows its reconstruction for the purposes of conducting tests of other types of fittings, such as safety discs and control valves.
The Research and Development Center will cooperate with scientific units throughout the country, which will result in the development of knowledge and competence in the field of work methodology. Thanks to this, it will be possible to design excellent safety valves . But this is not the end...

The investment in Sosnowiec operates not only as a laboratory – it also has a well-equipped prototyping facility , which allows for the production of new valve models. Laboratory employees have at their disposal, among others: two lathes, a CNC milling machine and a lapping machine. These devices are designed to produce the necessary, prototype internal valve details, as well as to create instrumentation for testing.
In addition, the Zetkama laboratory conducts verification of technical documentation, as well as flow and strength simulations . Thanks to the scientific nature of the Center, the obtained test results are fully reliable and can be validated.

Zetkama – who are the safety valve specialists?
Zetkama is one of the largest manufacturers of industrial fittings in Central and Eastern Europe. It has its own iron foundry, modern machinery and offers over 2,000 products, including:
- shut-off valves for heating networks ,
- check valves ,
- bellows valves,
- throttle valves,
- coarse filters ,
- ball cocks.
All these products are sold to over 70 countries around the world.
Zetkama began its operations in Kłodzko in 1946. Over a decade later, it moved its iron foundry to Ścinawka Średnia in Lower Silesia, where its headquarters are located to this day. The plant was modernized in 2001 (Cast Foundry), and in 2007 Zetkama built a new Fittings Factory next to the existing Foundry. In subsequent years, it took over the Armak factory from Sosnowiec (2017) and the FAG factory from Głuchołazy (2020). Currently, the company employs approx. 500 people in 3 fittings production plants and a cast iron foundry.
