The Research and Development Center, which was established at the end of 2020 in Sosnowiec, is a modern initiative of Zetkama. What's in Zetkama's modern laboratory?
All stations designed at the Zetkamy Research and Development Center are intended to test valves and examine their functioning in various conditions .
The laboratory included:
- stand for testing flow-through air valves,
- stand for functional testing of air valves,
- counterpressure testing station (water and air testing with static and dynamic counterpressure),
- stand for testing water flow valves,
- stand for functional testing of water valves.
The Research and Development Center has an EU Certificate of Conformity, which covers both the research installation and the special SAFETY safety system that protects the equipment and crew against undesirable pressure changes and operator errors.
What is the purpose of the Zetkama laboratory in Sosnowiec?
The Zetkamy Research and Development Center is primarily intended to examine the operating characteristics of safety valves. It also conducts general tests of industrial fittings . The laboratory installation has been designed in a way that allows it to be rebuilt for the purposes of testing other types of fittings, e.g. bursting discs and control valves.
The Research and Development Center will cooperate with scientific units throughout the country, which will result in the development of knowledge and competences in the field of work methodology. This will make it possible to design perfect safety valves . But that's not the end...
The investment in Sosnowiec works not only as a laboratory - it also has a well-equipped prototype shop that allows the production of new valve models. Laboratory employees have at their disposal, among others: two lathes, a CNC milling machine and a lapping machine. These devices are designed to produce the necessary prototype internal valve details, as well as to create test equipment.
In Zetkama's laboratory, technical documentation is also verified, as well as flow and strength simulations . Thanks to the scientific nature of the Center, the obtained trial results are fully reliable and can be validated.

Zetkama – who are the safety valve specialists?
Zetkama is one of the largest manufacturers of industrial fittings in Central and Eastern Europe. It has its own iron foundry, modern machinery and offers over 2,000 products, including:
- stop valves for heating networks ,
- check valves ,
- bellows valves,
- dampers,
- coarse filters ,
- ball cocks.
All these products are sold to over 70 countries around the world.
Zetkama began its operations in Kłodzko in 1946. More than a decade later, it moved its iron foundry to Ścinawka Średnia in Lower Silesia, where its headquarters are still located today. The plant was modernized in 2001 (Iron Foundry), and in 2007 Zetkama built a new Fittings Factory next to the existing Foundry. In the following years, it took over the Armak factory from Sosnowiec (2017) and the FAG factory from Głuchołazy (2020). Currently, the company employs approximately 500 people in 3 fittings production plants and a cast iron foundry.
