Safe and solid installation with Conex Banninger gas fittings

Added: Monday, 11/20/2023

The first pressed connectors began to be used in the 1990s, although they were mainly used in sanitary installations supplying cold and hot water. The ability to obtain an accurate, durable and tight connection caught the attention of designers and users, which led to the dynamic development of this technology in other installations, including gas.

B Press Gas Gas Fitting Safety Standards and Regulations

The introduction of pressed joints required the adaptation of national law in order to unify Polish, European and international standards. As a result, paragraph 163 of the regulation on technical conditions, which refers directly to pressed joints, has gained a new wording. The fourth paragraph discusses where and under what conditions such joints may be used.

The above provision, in combination with the amendment to the PN-EN 1775:2007 standard, made the use of press fittings in gas installations not only possible, but also common, of course under certain conditions.

As a result, the B Press Gas 5000 and 4000 series gas connectors have been made available for general use based on the declaration of conformity.

Materials:

  • Conex Banninger B Press Gas Reducing Tee 35 x 28 x 35 CU Copper alloy connectors are made of bronze (material number CC 499K according to the PN-EN 1982 standard);
  • Copper connectors are made of phosphorus-deoxidized copper – type CU-DHP (material number PN-EN 12165 CW024A).

It should be added here that the connections are subjected to constant and demanding production control and complementary tests of samples taken at the production plant.

Joint testing includes, among others:

  • Tightness of samples after crimping;
  • Resistance to temperature fluctuations;
  • Mechanical resistance;
  • Thermal resistance;
  • Vibration resistance;
  • Bending resistance;
  • Torsional strength.

The certificate of conformity, which is the basis for marking connectors with the construction mark B, is issued on the basis of continuous supervision of the connector production processes, their assessment and acceptance.

Application of B Press Gas gas connectors

B Press Gas gas connectors are used for gas fuel installations. As a rule, the design of the connectors is to prevent leaks and facilitate assembly work.
The connectors are equipped with external and internal threads that meet the following standards:

  • Connection threads according to ISO 7-1 and PN-EN 10226-1. External conical threads and internal cylindrical threads;
  • Cylindrical mounting threads according to ISO 228.

The individual elements are clamped using an appropriate tool and "B" profile jaws.

Features of connections using B Press Gas press fittings:

  • Durability and mechanical strength,
  • Avoidance of non-axial (skew) pipe insertion and damage to the sealing element thanks to cylindrical pipe guidance in the fitting in front of the O-ring;
  • Conex Banninnger B Press Gas 28 CU end cap Patented sealing ring with PI (Press Indicator) system in the modes: "unpressed - leaky";
  • >B< Press Gas fittings made of copper and copper alloys are designed for connecting with hard, semi-hard and soft copper pipes according to the PN-EN 1057 standard;
  • Possibility of connection to various types of installations via transition fittings;
  • Continuous operating temperature from -20°C to 60°C;
  • Working pressure maximum 5 bar;
  • Long service life (manufacturer's warranty up to 25 years).
  • All Conex products meet the requirements regarding the type of metal used (copper and its alloys) and the materials from which the seals should be made.
