Subsidy for the purchase of an electric boiler

Added: Monday, 10/5/2020

Electric heating is becoming more and more common every year. High efficiency, ease of installation and virtually maintenance-free operation are just some of the advantages of electric boilers. Of all the heat sources available on the market, electric heating devices are one of the most environmentally friendly. When deciding to install an electric boiler, it is good to remember about the possibility of obtaining a subsidy. Check why it is worth choosing electric heating and what opportunities are offered by available subsidy programs.

Subsidy for the purchase of an electric boiler

Clean Air program – subsidy for boiler replacement

The aim of the Clean Air program is to reduce emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere. Pollution is largely produced by the use of outdated boilers and furnaces and low-quality fuels for heating. Beneficiaries of the program may receive funding for the replacement of old and ineffective heat sources, including: for modern electric boilers that meet strict emission standards.

The maximum value of eligible costs from which the amount of subsidy in the "Clean Air" program is calculated is PLN 69,000. zlotys . It concerns people with the lowest incomes and includes the replacement of an inefficient solid fuel heating device along with the installation of a photovoltaic micro-installation. Depending on household income, support may amount to up to 90% of eligible costs.

In addition to the purchase of an electric boiler and the installation of a PV installation, the program rules enable you to obtain funding for, among others: for thermal insulation of the building. The recruitment of applications is conducted by the Voivodship Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, and the program is scheduled for 2018-2029.

"My Electricity" program - co-financing for a photovoltaic installation

The aim of the "My Current" program is to increase the production of electricity from photovoltaic micro-installations. The program is intended for natural persons who produce energy for their own needs. The assumptions of the program allow you to receive a grant of up to PLN 20.5 thousand. PLN for the purchase and installation of a photovoltaic micro-installation with a capacity of 2 to 10 kW. The program is implemented in the years 2019-2025, and applications are accepted by the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management.

According to the new rules, people who do not benefit from other subsidies for PV installations can wear:

  • 4 thousand PLN for the photovoltaic installation itself,
  • 5 thousand PLN for a PV installation coupled with another element,
  • 5 thousand PLN for heat storage,
  • 7.5 thousand PLN for energy storage,
  • 3 thousand PLN for an energy management system (EMS or HEMS).

It is worth mentioning that expenses incurred as part of the implementation of an investment co-financed by the "My Electricity" program are deductible from income. Thus, the investor can receive a PIT refund regardless of whether he pays a flat tax, settles it according to general principles or a lump sum on recorded income.

Central heating boiler installation

The installation of an electric central heating boiler should be carried out in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations, which will guarantee its effective and failure-free operation. It is best to entrust the connection of the controller to a professional installer with appropriate electrical qualifications. The same goes for hydraulics.

To install the central heating furnace, choose a dry, clean room where the temperature will not drop below 0°C. Before starting work, the electricity and water supply should be turned off. It is also recommended to flush the heating system.

Depending on the type of electric boiler, it is hung on the wall or placed on a stable, even surface. Once the stove is in place, first of all, connect the central heating water system to it. The heating medium that will circulate in the pipes may be treated water or an anti-freezing liquid intended for central heating systems. Remember that before starting the electric boiler, the installation must be vented.

The operation of the electric boiler can be controlled by a factory-installed controller. Thanks to it, the power of the device is automatically adjusted to the current heat demand in the room. This guarantees an economic solution and cost optimization. The furnace also has a diaphragm expansion vessel that protects the central heating circuit against excessive pressure increases in the heating system. The boiler with a built-in hot water exchanger has two such vessels.

Why is it worth choosing electric heating?

Among the many advantages of electric heating, the most frequently mentioned are convenience and comfort of use. Another important issue is low investment costs and space saving. Electric boilers do not require the preparation of a special boiler room. The aesthetic appearance and high quality of work allow them to be installed in almost any room.

Without a doubt, these are some of the safest heating devices available on the market - both for users and the environment. In buildings with good thermal insulation, an electric boiler combined with a photovoltaic installation can be a very effective way of heating.

Storage heating system

Another solution that allows you to save on electricity bills is to build a storage heating system. A properly prepared installation allows you to heat water during the cheaper night tariff hours. The heat is then stored in the buffer. The stored, heated water is then used for heating during daytime hours, according to a specific schedule. A properly designed heating installation allows for virtually maintenance-free operation. User intervention is usually limited to changing the temperature settings.

A modern electric boiler for photovoltaics

The main element of an electric heating installation is the selection of an appropriate boiler. A well-selected boiler guarantees efficient and reliable operation of the entire installation. Among the many solutions offered on the market, electric boilers manufactured by Kospel are very popular. Modern
heating devices are offered in many variants tailored to the individual needs of the user.

One of the most popular boilers in the manufacturer's offer is the EKCO model. The boiler is available in both a basic version (EKCO.L3/LN3) and an extended version (EKCO.M3/MN3). The extended version is equipped with weather control. In turn, the EKD.M3 dual-function boiler combines the functions of the entire boiler room in one housing. The EKD.M3 model is equipped with the equipment necessary for the operation of the heating installation. Inside the aesthetically made casing there is, among others: hot water tank with a capacity of 130 liters, circulation pump and diaphragm expansion vessels for central heating and hot water

EKCO and EKD electric boilers are available in several variants enabling operation with power ranging from 4 to 24 kW. Weather control ensures completely maintenance-free and economical operation. The optional internet module, which can be retrofitted to boilers with a weather controller, also allows for remote heating control.

Electric heating – the heating of the future

In recent years, electric heating has become increasingly popular. The reasons for installing an electric boiler include: convenience of use, maintenance-free operation, as well as the growing availability of energy from renewable sources. The cooperation of an electric boiler with a photovoltaic installation allows for a significant reduction in monthly heating bills. It is worth considering using the "Clean Air" program, which allows for a thorough modernization of the boiler room and the purchase of an efficient electric boiler.
