Fiber optic splice closure – reliability and ease of installation

This flat, through-type ALANTEC fiber optic splice closure, designed for pole/wall mounting, is a comprehensive solution for ISPs and installers. It provides secure and durable fiber optic connections in various environmental conditions. The kit includes an integrated cable slack storage, which facilitates the organization and protection of excess fiber optic cable.

Design and application

The closure is designed for simple installation and maintenance. Compact dimensions (80.4 mm depth, 197.5 mm width, 273.8 mm height) allow for installation in limited spaces. Made of durable UV-resistant plastic, it does not require additional grounding – which greatly simplifies the installation process and reduces costs. IP67 tightness guarantees protection against moisture and dust, enabling use outdoors and in harsh industrial environments. Three cable entries from the bottom and two from the top increase configuration flexibility.

Functionality and parameters

The closure offers space for 48 fiber optic splices, arranged in two splice trays. The ability to mount up to 16 adapters (SC simplex/LC duplex) allows for adaptation to various network needs. The internal space allows for the installation of optical splitters (1x2, 1x4, 1x8, 1x16), making it an ideal solution for extended distribution networks. The integrated cable slack storage (dimensions: 400x290x110mm) provides convenient management of excess fiber optic cable and its safe storage. Tool-less mounting to the cable slack storage using special clips further speeds up the installation process. The closure meets the standards ZN-96/TP S.A.-005, ZN-96/TP S.A.-006, ZN-96/TP S.A.-007, ZN-96/TP S.A.-008 and ZN-96/TP S.A.-024 and also has a RoHS II 2011/65/UE certificate confirming compliance with EU directives regarding the restriction of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment.
