Cat.6A LSOH patchcord – reliability and safety in your network
This Cat.6A patchcord from ALANTEC is the ideal solution for demanding network installations where high bandwidth and safety are key. The cable is designed for data transmission at speeds up to 10 Gbps, making it an excellent choice for both home and professional applications. Made from high-quality materials, it provides a stable connection and minimizes the risk of interference.
Construction and application
Cat.6A U/UTP patchcord is a connection cable used to connect devices in a computer network – computers with network sockets, switches with patch panels, or various network devices with each other. Its construction based on unshielded twisted pairs (U/UTP) makes it flexible and easy to install. The yellow color makes it easier to identify the cable in the installation, especially useful when managing a large number of cables. The use of LSOH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) jacket increases safety in the event of a fire – it limits the release of smoke and toxic gases, which is crucial for protecting health and property.
Advantages and benefits
High bandwidth: Category 6A provides data transmission speeds up to 10 Gbps, allowing for smooth operation even of the most demanding applications.
Safety: The LSOH jacket minimizes the risk associated with fire, protecting the health and property of users.
Flexibility: The unshielded U/UTP construction makes installation and cable routing in tight spaces easier.
Durability: Made from high-quality materials, it guarantees long-lasting and reliable operation.
Easy identification: The yellow color makes it easier to distinguish the cable from other cables in the installation.
Compliance with standards: Meets the requirements of ISO/IEC 11801 standards, ensuring compatibility with other network devices.
Backward compatibility: Can be used with lower category elements (patch panels, RJ45 keystone modules).
Technical specifications – key parameters
The patchcord is characterized by a conductor cross-section of 4x2x24/7 AWG and has stranded conductors insulated with polyethylene. Class EA (500MHz) guarantees high signal transmission quality. Resistance to mechanical loads is confirmed by a maximum tensile strength of 80 N and a bending radius of 4x the outer diameter of the cable. The cable is designed to operate at temperatures from -20°C to +60°C during use and from 0°C to +50°C during installation. The use of halogen-free plastic (LSOH/FRNC) ensures fire safety in accordance with CPR Eca fire classification. Additionally, the cable meets the requirements of the PoE 802.3af standard, enabling devices to be powered over the Ethernet network.
