Residual Current Circuit Breaker – safety and reliability in one housing

This circuit breaker combines short-circuit and leakage current protection, providing comprehensive protection for the electrical installation. It is a device designed to protect circuits in residential and commercial buildings, as well as industrial facilities. Its compact size (2 module width) makes it easy to install in distribution boards.

The DS201 M C16 APR30 circuit breaker is characterized by a C characteristic, which means it is ideal for circuits with devices generating inrush currents during start-up – such as motors, transformers or lighting. This prevents unnecessary tripping during short-term overloads, while effectively responding to real threats. The rated current of 16A makes it suitable for protecting typical lighting and socket circuits.

Versatile application: ideal for protecting lighting, socket circuits and devices generating inrush currents.

Protection against electric shock: a leakage current of 30mA ensures a quick response in the event of insulation failure and minimizes the risk of electric shock.

High breaking capacity: a breaking capacity of 10kA guarantees effective disconnection of the circuit in the event of a short circuit, protecting the installation and devices from damage.

Compact size: a width of 2 modules makes it easy to install even in tight distribution boards.

Safety and compliance with standards: meets the requirements of EN 61009-1 and IEC 60947-2 standards, ensuring a high level of safety.

The construction of the circuit breaker includes both an overcurrent mechanism (thermal release) and a residual current mechanism. The thermal release responds to temperature increase caused by overload, while the residual current release monitors the difference in currents in the phase and neutral conductors – detecting a difference indicates current leakage to earth and causes the circuit to be disconnected. In addition, single-pole disconnection of the N pole increases the safety of the installation. The circuit breaker is designed to operate in an ambient temperature from 0 to 55°C and has a protection degree of IP20, which means protection against contact with fingers and solid objects larger than 12.5 mm.
