Drainage system for areas with extreme traffic

The ACO DRAIN Multiline V 100 5.1 channel is a component dedicated to linear drainage in locations requiring resistance to very high loads. Thanks to load class E-600 (in accordance with standard EN 1433), the product is intended for areas with heavy vehicular traffic, such as public roads, transshipment yards, or airports. Its polymer concrete construction ensures high mechanical strength and resistance to atmospheric factors, including frost, which is crucial for installation in outdoor conditions.

Construction and hydraulic properties

The key element of this channel is its V-shaped cross-section. This shape not only increases water flow velocity but also supports the self-cleaning process of the channel, minimizing the risk of sediment deposition and blockages. The element has a length of 500 mm and is not factory-equipped with a grate – the grate must be selected and installed separately according to the installation plan.

To facilitate installation work and the design of stormwater drainage networks, the channel features special preparations:

• Side grooves – allow for easy connection of lateral pipes at an angle, increasing the flexibility of the drainage system.
• Bottom groove – enables punching an opening at any point on the channel bottom for connection to the discharge riser.
• Reinforced edges – made of galvanized steel, protecting against mechanical damage during installation and operation, and ensuring stability when joining with the pavement.

Application and installation

The product is ideal for situations where rapid removal of large volumes of rainwater or meltwater is required while maintaining safety for heavy transport traffic. Thanks to the Drainlock® grate mounting system, it can be easily connected with appropriate grates (cast iron or steel), forming a sealed and durable assembly.

It is worth noting that the galvanized steel edges require proper sealing with jointing mortar (SF system) during pavement installation, which guarantees the watertightness of the connection between the channel and the surrounding area. This is a universal solution for professionals seeking reliable drainage infrastructure with a high load-bearing class.
