Buffer tank for optimizing heating and cooling systems

This 50-liter ABT buffer tank is a key component in heating and cooling systems, designed to work with both traditional heat sources and modern heat pumps. Its function is to accumulate thermal or cooling energy, which translates into more stable and efficient operation of the entire installation. Installation between the heat/cooling source and the receiving installation allows you to connect even two sources, and also reduces the frequency of switching the heat generating device on and off. This not only extends its lifespan, but also reduces operating costs.

Thanks to the use of an immersion tube, this tank is ideal for installations with heat pumps, ensuring proper flow of the working fluid through the heat exchanger and supporting the defrosting process. The compact design and the possibility of wall mounting allow you to save valuable space in the boiler room.

Construction and application

The ABT 50 tank is made of steel, which guarantees its durability and corrosion resistance. It is equipped with threaded connections – 1 1/4 inch and 1 inch – allowing easy connection to the existing installation. The ability to direct the connections upwards, downwards or to the side provides flexibility during installation. Additionally, the tank has dedicated connections for connecting two heat sources and an optional electric heater. The tank insulation allows for effective maintenance of the temperature of the stored energy, both in heating and cooling systems.

The set includes all the necessary elements for correct installation: an automatic air vent with a stop valve, half-unions for connection to the KSV 125 manifold, blanking plugs and mounting brackets. The maximum operating temperature of the tank is 90°C, and the maximum working pressure is 3 bar. Its dimensions (height 843 mm) make it fit even in a limited space.
