Coupled water meter with automatic switching for large installations
The MWN/JS-S water meter is designed for measuring cold water in installations with variable loads—where both small, continuous withdrawals and short-term but high flows occur simultaneously, e.g., during hydrant activation or emergency drains. Recommended for industrial facilities, hospitals, schools, hotels, and multi-unit buildings with hydrant connections.
The body is made of cast iron, resistant to pressure up to 16 bar (PN16), operating temperature up to 50°C. Flanged connection—horizontal or vertical installation, with the register facing upwards (H). Working length 500 mm—standard for DN150, without the need for additional connecting elements.
The water meter consists of two independent elements: the main one (screw-type, dry-register) and the side one (vane-type, single-jet, dry-register). An automatic spring-loaded valve operates between them—no external power supply required. At low flows, water passes through the side water meter; when the flow rate exceeds the threshold, the valve redirects the entire stream through the main water meter. This ensures measurement accuracy at both minimum and maximum loads.
The continuous flow rate Q3 is 250 m³/h—this means the water meter is capable of handling large flows typical for fire protection systems or large municipal facilities. The R factor (Q3/Q1) = 500—this indicates a wide measurement range from very small streams to maximum flow.
The register has an IP65 protection rating. The water meter is prepared for operation in automatic meter reading (AMR) systems. A communication module can be installed—but it is not built-in nor supplied with the device. It contains no magnetic elements—resistant to interference.
Compliant with MID requirements for cold water—the R1600 class indicates the measurement range defined by the standard, not the Q3/Q1 ratio. The Q3/Q1 = 500 value is provided as a technical parameter and is not contradictory to the R1600 class.
