Bivalent buffer tank MEGA SOLAR W-E 1000.82N, 1000 l, two coils 25130
Dual-source domestic hot water storage tank
A bivalent storage tank with a capacity of 1000 liters designed to work with two independent heat sources - e.g., a solar installation with a central heating boiler or a boiler with a fireplace featuring a water jacket. Two heating coils allow for simultaneous or sequential use of different energy carriers, resulting in higher efficiency of the entire system and greater energy independence for the building.
Construction and corrosion protection
The tank is made of steel coated with high-quality ceramic enamel - this coating serves as the primary anti-corrosion barrier in contact with domestic water. Additional protection is provided by an insulated magnesium anode, whose design allows for the measurement of the protective current intensity. This is important for service technicians and users who wish to monitor the state of the cathodic protection - a drop in this current signals anode depletion and the need for replacement.
Thermal insulation made of EPS200 polystyrene and synthetic non-woven fabric ensures low standby losses at a level of 140 W (energy class C). The casing and insulation are fully removable, which significantly facilitates transport - particularly important for large capacities, where dimensions may make it difficult to pass through narrow access routes.
Operating parameters and thermal efficiency
The maximum working pressure of the tank is 10 bar, while the coils can withstand 16 bar - this difference arises from the fact that the primary circuit (solar or CH) usually operates under higher pressure than the domestic hot water circuit.
| Element | Upper coil | Lower coil |
|---|---|---|
| Heat exchange area | 1,47 m² | 2,74 m² |
| Power at 70/10/45°C | 23,8 kW | 44,5 kW |
| Capacity at 70/10/45°C | 588 l/h | 1100 l/h |
The lower coil, with almost twice the heating surface, handles the main heat source - e.g., a boiler or solar collectors as the priority heating source. The upper coil serves as a supplementary or backup module (fireplace, second boiler). The maximum operating temperature of the tank is 85°C, and the coils are 110°C.
Installation and installation flexibility
An inspection opening located at an appropriate height allows for periodic inspections and cleaning of the tank from accumulated limescale - a standard maintenance procedure with hard water.
The heating module connection fitting (2″) allows for the installation of an electric heater as an additional heat source - useful, for example, during transitional periods or when the main sources are unavailable.
The manufacturer provides the possibility of replacing the magnesium anode with a titanium one - a solution for users wishing to eliminate periodic anode replacement in exchange for a virtually maintenance-free solution.
A temperature indicator built into the casing allows for real-time reading of the water temperature without the need to reach for the control valves/fittings.
