Dual-source storage tanks for solar installations

MEGA SOLAR series dual-source storage tanks are designed for heating and storing domestic hot water in systems with two heat sources - e.g., a solar installation with a central heating boiler or a fireplace with a water jacket. Model W-E 750.82N with a capacity of 750 liters (storage capacity 704 l) is equipped with two independent heating coils, allowing for simultaneous or sequential use of different energy sources.

The configuration of two coils enables flexible management of domestic hot water production throughout the year - in summer, the solar installation covers the demand with almost zero operating costs, while during periods of limited sunlight, the boiler automatically takes over the role of the primary heater.

Construction and design

The tank is made of steel coated with ceramic enamel - this coating creates a chemical barrier between the water and the metal, effectively protecting against internal corrosion. Additional protection is provided by an insulated magnesium anode with dimensions Ø33×1250 mm, mounted via a dedicated 1¼″ connection.

The outer casing is made of plastic, ensuring moisture resistance and an aesthetic appearance for years of use. The thermal insulation is removable - it can be removed during transport to upper floors or through narrow passages and then reinstalled without specialized tools.

The standard-mounted temperature indicator allows for monitoring the water heating status without opening the inspection hatch - useful during daily operation and during system startup.

Operating parameters and efficiency

The two coils differ in size and power:

The lower coil - larger - standardly serves a source with a higher supply temperature (boiler), whereas the upper coil can work with a solar installation providing lower temperature parameters.

The maximum working pressure of the tank is 10 bar, while the coils can withstand 16 bar. The maximum temperature is 85°C for the tank and 110°C for the coils.

The inspection hatch allows full access to the interior during inspections or sediment cleaning.

Compatibility and additional equipment

The tank is equipped with a connection for mounting an electric heater - thread 2″ G. The manufacturer provides the possibility of replacing the magnesium anode with a titanium anode.

The empty weight of the tank is 260 kg, the total height is approximately 2051 mm, and the external diameter is approximately 976 mm.

Operating conditions and durability

The MEGA SOLAR series operates exclusively in a standing position - it requires a stable, level surface capable of supporting the weight of the filled tank.

The manufacturer provides a 5-year warranty on the enameled tank, subject to regular replacement of the magnesium anode.

The energy class of model W-E 750.82N is C, with standby losses at a level of 127 W.
