Water meter remote reading module – reliable integration with BMS systems

This M-BUS wired module, type IWM-MB3, is a solution designed for remote reading of data from water meters in residential and commercial buildings. Thanks to the use of an inductive interface and compliance with the open M-Bus protocol (PN-EN 13757-2/3), it ensures full integration with existing building management systems (BMS). This not only facilitates water consumption monitoring but also allows for a quick response in case of irregularities.

Functionality and safety first

The IWM-MB3 module has been designed with reliability and data security in mind. The inductive interface minimizes the impact of external interference, such as magnetic fields or installation vibrations. In addition, the module records attempts at manipulation – disassembly and attempts to apply a magnet – and transmits this information wirelessly. Recording of reverse flow, along with its value, allows for the detection of potential problems in the installation. IP68 protection class guarantees resistance to harsh environmental conditions, enabling installation even in places exposed to moisture or flooding.

Simple configuration and operation

Module configuration is extremely simple thanks to the NFC interface and a dedicated smartphone application. This allows for quick device startup without the need for complex equipment. The 1.5 m cable length provides flexibility during installation. The module is compatible with GMDM-I and GMB-I water meters, which facilitates the modernization of existing systems. Measurement accuracy at the level of 1 liter ensures precise data on water consumption. The module is powered from the Mbus network, and a lithium battery provides a backup power source in case of its absence.
