Compatible with GSD8-I water meter, the IWM-TX5 radio module enables remote reading without physical access

The module is mounted directly onto the GSD8-I water meter and uses an inductive interface — no need to open the housing or rely on a clean optical surface. This means it is immune to interference from sediment, rust, or dirt that often disrupt optical systems. It operates maintenance-free for the entire life of the meter.

Data transmission occurs via the W-MBus (PN-EN 13757-3) standard at 868 MHz, with a transmit power of up to 25 mW. Theoretical range up to 500 meters — real range depends on obstacles, wall materials, and meter location (e.g., stairwell, basement). In practice, it operates stably even with one intermediate obstacle between the module and the AMR receiver.

Powered by a non-replaceable lithium battery, designed for 10 years of operation under typical conditions — transmission configuration (reading frequency), temperature, and flow volume affect battery life. The battery requires no servicing — the module functions as a complete unit until end-of-life.

Durability and Security Features

The housing has an IP65 protection rating — resistant to dust and water jets from any direction. This allows installation even in damp, dirty, or outdoor locations (e.g., stairwells, basements, technical cabinets).

The module logs and transmits alarms for:

• Battery depletion
• Attempted removal
• Magnet application (fraud)
• Reverse flow (records value)
• Leak detection
• Unauthorized NFC configuration

All these events are automatically sent to the AMR system — no manual checks required. Additionally, reverse flow data is compensated in the reading — ensuring consistency between the meter’s mechanical display and the wirelessly transmitted value.

Configuration and Integration

No tools or internal access to the meter are needed. Configuration and activation are performed via:

• NFC — BMETERS NFC Config app on Android phone (simply hold phone near the module)
• or wirelessly — using the RFM-RX2 station and BMETERS software on a computer

Transmits data: current consumption (resolution 1 liter), 12 months of historical values, total reverse flow, battery status, and active alarms.

Dimensions: 70 x 90 x 30 mm, weight: 57 g — compact, does not interfere with meter installation or servicing. Operates in temperatures from +1°C to +55°C — suitable for all residential and commercial environments.
