It offers DC and AC voltage measurement up to 1000V and current up to 20A (with continuous measurement capability of 10A). Measurement accuracy is high – for example, for DC voltage it is as low as 0.06% + 2 digits on lower ranges. In addition to standard electrical quantities, the BM817s also measures resistance up to 50 MΩ (with automatic lead resistance compensation), capacitance up to 9999 μF, AC frequency up to 125 kHz, and temperature over a wide range from -50°C to 1000°C (requiring an appropriate thermocouple).

Additionally, the meter features continuity test and diode test functions, which are essential for quick installation checks. The device construction is designed to withstand drops and harsh working conditions – dimensions are approximately 198 x 97 x 55 mm, and weight is about 430 g, making it a robust portable tool. Please note that to obtain full computer communication functionality, the dedicated KIT BRUA-85xa interface kit must be purchased separately. All other functions are available immediately upon removing the device from its packaging.
