Digital multimeter BM867s TRMS (AC+DC), dBm, USB 102093

Application and Key Measurement Capabilities

This professional measuring instrument is a "heavy duty" solution that combines high accuracy with advanced diagnostic functions. Thanks to the use of True RMS technology with a bandwidth up to 20 kHz, the device precisely measures the true RMS value of AC voltage and current, even in the presence of a DC component (AC+DC mode). This is crucial when analyzing distortions in industrial installations, automation systems, or during diagnostics of electromechanical equipment.

High resolution and a wide measurement range allow for precise readings across a broad spectrum of physical quantities. The multimeter supports voltage up to 1000 V in both DC and AC versions, ensuring a basic accuracy of 0.03% in the DC range. For current, the device measures values up to 20 A (DC and AC). For resistance measurements, ranges up to 50 MΩ are available, while conductance is measured with a resolution reaching 99.99 nS. Capacitance can be checked up to 25 mF thanks to the fast X-Speed mode, which accelerates circuit diagnostics. Additionally, the multimeter measures frequency up to 200 kHz and duty cycle (DUTY), making it a versatile tool in electronics.

For specialists working with process control systems, the instrument offers a dedicated 4-20 mA current loop measurement mode with result display in percentage (%), significantly facilitating sensor calibration without the need for additional converters. Additionally, the attenuation measurement function in dBm units makes it a universal tool in communication and audio electronics.

Operational Safety and Advanced Diagnostic Functions

User safety is a priority, confirmed by a high surge protection level of up to 12 kV and a safety class of CAT IV 1000V. These parameters allow for safe work in main power distribution boards and circuits with high surge potential. The device also protects against operator errors thanks to the Beep-Jack™ function, which audibly signals incorrect probe connection to input jacks, minimizing the risk of damaging the multimeter or causing installation failures.

Waveform analysis is significantly facilitated by fast sampling:

  • The LCD display refreshes data 5 times per second.
  • A fast analog bargraph operates at 60 times per second, allowing visual tracking of rapid value changes.

The data logging system offers a wide set of modes:

  • Peak value detection (CREST-MAX/PEAK HOLD) with a response time of up to 1 ms, allowing to "catch" short-term interference pulses.
  • MAX/MIN/MAX-MIN/AVG modes for analyzing signal stability over time.
  • Differential measurement (Δ) for quick comparison of relative values.
  • HOLD function to freeze the result on the screen, as well as continuity and diode test functions.

Construction, Display, and Communication

The instrument is equipped with a large, dual LCD display with a maximum reading of 50,000 / 500,000 counts, ensuring readability even in difficult lighting conditions thanks to backlighting. Indicators are clear for both numerical values and the dynamic analog bargraph. The whole is enclosed in a durable housing with dimensions of 208 x 103 x 64.5 mm and a weight of approximately 635 g (with batteries), ensuring stability during stationary or handheld operation.

The standard kit includes high-quality test leads and a 9V battery (installed). The package also includes a protective holster (case) and an instruction manual in Polish.

For data archiving and further analysis on a computer, the multimeter has a USB communication port (optional KIT BU-86x kit required), allowing integration with PC software. Thanks to this, the device not only serves for current "field" measurements but can also act as a reference in quality control systems or be used to create detailed technical reports after service work. Key safety parameters include surge resistance of 12 kV and CAT IV 1000 V class, guaranteeing protection when working in high-voltage switchboards. DC voltage measurement accuracy reaches 0.03%, and the True RMS bandwidth extends up to 20 kHz, enabling reliable analysis of distorted waveforms. The peak pulse detection time is less than 1 ms, which is significant
