Backflow preventer – protection for installations and drinking water
This Caleffi EA class backflow preventer is a reliable safeguard for water installations against contamination. Its design, with supervision capability, allows for ongoing monitoring of the device's condition and provides peace of mind. Designed for use with drinking water, it protects the network against backflow of contaminated water, which is particularly important in the event of sudden changes in network pressure.
The valve has internal thread connections with a diameter of 2 inches (DN50), which facilitates installation in existing systems. Made of high-quality brass, it guarantees durability and corrosion resistance. The internal components of the valve, made of POM (polyacetal) and a stainless steel spring, ensure reliable operation for a long time. O-ring seals made of EPDM and NBR further increase tightness and resistance to various media.
Key features and application
EA class: Provides the highest level of protection against back contamination according to EN 13959.
Supervision capability: Enables regular checks of the valve's condition, which translates into safety and reliability.
Brass housing: Guarantees strength and corrosion resistance, even in harsh operating conditions.
2 inch internal thread: Facilitates integration with existing water installations.
Application: Ideal for protecting water installations in residential, commercial and industrial buildings where protection against contamination of drinking water is required.
This valve is used wherever there is a risk of contaminated water flowing back into the municipal network – e.g. when connecting devices using water that does not meet drinking water standards (e.g. irrigation systems). Its installation between the municipal network and the home installation automatically cuts off the water supply in the event of a drop in pressure in the main network, thereby protecting the source of drinking water.
The valve operates at a maximum pressure of 10 bar and a temperature of up to 90°C. Remember to regularly check the condition of the valve – the ability to supervise is key to maintaining its full functionality and ensuring safe use.
