Cord diameter selection for gap width

Choosing the right cord diameter is crucial to ensure optimal fire protection. Below are guidelines for selection:

For a gap width of 41 mm to 50 mm, a cord diameter of 60 mm is recommended. For a gap width of 51 mm to 60 mm, choose a cord with a diameter of 70 mm. For gaps with a width of 61 mm to 70 mm, a diameter of 80 mm is recommended, and for those from 71 mm to 80 mm – 90 mm. For a width of 81 mm to 90 mm, use a cord with a diameter of 100 mm, and for gaps from 91 mm to 100 mm, a diameter of 120 mm is recommended.

Remember to allow for a tolerance (+20%) when choosing the cord diameter. If in doubt, consult the product's technical documentation or contact the manufacturer. When mounting the cord, press it with a blunt tool, e.g. a wooden strip, to ensure it is properly seated in the gap. The cord should be completely inside the wall or ceiling – the surface of the cord should not protrude beyond the edges of the structure.
