Two-component polyurethane resin for dielectric protection

CG Resin is a professional solution for insulating and protecting cable connections in low-voltage installations. This transparent, two-component hydrocarbon-based resin provides excellent dielectric protection for electrical connections while offering the unique advantage of easy removal.

Properties and technical characteristics

The preparation is free from halogens, silicones, and isocyanates, making it environmentally friendly and exempt from CLP regulation labeling. The operating temperature ranges from -40°C to +80°C, and the dielectric breakdown exceeds 30 kV/mm, ensuring effective protection even in demanding operating conditions.

The resin is characterized by a density of 0.92 g/cm³ and a hardness of 25 Shore D. Gel time depends on the ambient temperature: 40 minutes at 5°C, 26 minutes at 23°C, and 20 minutes at 35°C. The preparation exhibits a viscosity of 1100 mPa·s at 23°C and a mass loss of less than 3.5% after 28 days at 80°C.

Application and practical benefits

The product finds wide application as insulation for cable connections, particularly in junction and connection boxes. Due to its transparency before and after curing, it enables visual quality control of the completed connection. Excellent adhesion to all cable materials and low volumetric shrinkage guarantee durable and tight protection.

A key feature is the ability to easily remove the resin—the connection remains accessible without the need to cut or destroy components. The preparation does not emit heat during the curing reaction (cold-curing) and maintains stability under electrical and mechanical loads.

Storage and usage conditions

The resin is packed in a practical 143 ml dual-chamber pouch, which allows for safe mixing of components without contact with contaminants. Storage should take place at an ambient temperature between +15°C and +35°C, where it remains stable for 24 months.

Due to the viscoelastic nature of the resin, mechanical strain relief of the connection is required by using a mechanically stable enclosure. The product complies with the DIN EN 60455 standard, confirming its high quality and safety of use.
