Solid Base for Large Electrical Installations

A freestanding distribution cabinet enclosure with dimensions 1200 x 2080 x 315 mm (width x height x depth) provides a ready-made solution for projects requiring wall-mounted or freestanding installation in indoor environments. Constructed from sheet steel and powder-coated in grey (RAL 7035), it ensures durability and corrosion resistance, which is crucial in industrial and technical environments. The IP30 protection rating effectively prevents the entry of solid objects with a diameter greater than 2.5 mm, while simultaneously allowing free air circulation essential for cooling installed equipment.

Construction Facilitating Installation and Maintenance

The key feature of this enclosure is its universal design, which requires no additional modifications before starting installation work. Instead of a rigid mounting plate, an adjustable-depth system has been implemented, allowing precise adaptation of the equipment mounting location to the specifics of cabling and module dimensions. The enclosure is equipped with two full doors secured by a single three-point turn-lock, ensuring stability and safe access to the interior.

Note the mechanical impact resistance level IK08 – the enclosure withstands impacts with an energy of 5 J, protecting its contents from accidental damage during transport or operation. The rear wall is galvanized, further enhancing resistance to external factors. The total weight is approximately 75 kg, which, given such large dimensions, attests to the solidity of the welded frame construction.

Application and System Compatibility

The Basic-type distribution board (model BP-F-1200/20/3) is designed for metric mounting and serves ideally as an empty enclosure for custom configuration of low-voltage equipment. Thanks to compliance with the EMC directive and meeting requirements for thermal and electrical resistance (insulation withstand voltage 4 kV, rated voltage Ui = 440 V AC), it forms a safe foundation for Eaton xEnergy Basic distribution systems.

When designing the cooling system, actual operating conditions must be considered – at an ambient temperature of 35°C and an allowable temperature rise of 20 K, the freestanding enclosure can dissipate approximately 275 to 280 W of thermal power, while the wall-mounted variant achieves results in the range of 247–259 W. If the allowable temperature rise is increased to 35 K, these power values rise to 552–562 W for the freestanding version and 496–520 W for the wall-mounted version. Please note that final calculations of thermal losses for a specific equipment assembly remain the responsibility of the system designer.

The enclosure does not come with factory-made entry holes or rear doors, giving the installer full freedom to plan cable routes according to local project requirements. The absence of a transparent cover or ventilation in the doors indicates that this is a basic version, focused on maximum internal configuration flexibility without unnecessary standard elements.
