The insulation monitoring relay EMR6-R400-A-2 is a reliable device designed for continuous monitoring of insulation resistance in alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) networks. Its main task is to protect electrical installations from the effects of insulation damage, such as ground faults, which can lead to failures and safety hazards. The device works well in both industrial applications and public buildings.

Functionality and application

The EMR6-R400-A-2 relay measures the insulation resistance between the network conductors and ground. If the value drops below the set threshold, the relay disconnects the circuit, preventing further damage. The ability to configure the impedance setting value (1 - 100 kΩ and 1 - 200 kΩ) allows the device to be adapted to the specific requirements of a given installation. Thanks to the fault memory function, it is possible to identify the cause of the failure even after it has been removed. The device is designed to work in mixed circuits, which increases its versatility.

Construction features and parameters

The device is characterized by a compact design with dimensions of 45 mm (width) x 85.6 mm (height) x 107 mm (depth). Mounting is done on a standard DIN rail IEC/EN 60715 using a clip. The relay has screw connections, which ensures secure and durable electrical connections. It does not require an external power source and can operate in the voltage range of AC 0 - 400 V and DC 0 - 600 V. The maximum capacitance of the monitored circuit is 20 µF. The used output contacts ensure reliable switching of control circuits. Additionally, LEDs indicate the status of the supply voltage and any errors on individual phases (L+ and L-). It is a replacement for the EMR5-R400-2-A relay (cat. no. 153444), which facilitates the modernization of existing installations.
