Residual Current Device – Protection and Safety of Installations
This four-pole residual current device type S/A is a key element ensuring safety in every electrical installation. Designed for both home and commercial use, it effectively protects against electric shock and prevents fires caused by short circuits and overloads. DIN rail mounting simplifies integration with existing distribution boards.
Functionality and technical parameters
The circuit breaker is characterized by a rated current of 25A and a rated voltage of 415V, making it suitable for most standard installations. A rated differential current of 0.1A (sensitivity A) ensures a quick response to earth leakage currents, minimizing the risk to users. Additionally, it has a built-in selective protection feature, which means that in the event of a failure, only the damaged circuit will be disconnected, not the entire installation. Short-circuit strength at 10kA guarantees reliable operation even in difficult conditions.
- DIN rail mounting saves installation time and costs.
- Rated current of 25A is suitable for typical loads in residential and commercial buildings.
- Type A sensitivity is ideal for protecting against earth leakage currents and failures caused by electronic devices.
- High short-circuit strength of 10kA ensures resistance to damage caused by overvoltage and short circuits.
- Compact width of 4 modules allows for efficient use of space in the distribution board.
- Mechanical lock prevents accidental switching off or on of the circuit breaker during maintenance or repair.
- Wide operating temperature range (-25°C to +40°C) allows use in various environmental conditions.
Construction and application
Made of high-quality materials, the circuit breaker has a protection degree of IP20, which provides protection against accidental contact and the ingress of solid objects. The cross-section of the connected solid wire is from 1.5 mm² to 35 mm², and the stranded wire from 1.5 mm² to 16 mm², which provides great flexibility when connecting wires of different thicknesses. The color of the housing, close to RAL 7035, blends into the surroundings of the distribution board, providing an aesthetic look of the installation. This circuit breaker is used in lighting circuits, socket circuits and in powering electrical devices requiring shock protection. Rated impulse withstand voltage Uimp at 4kV further increases its resistance to sudden voltage surges.
