Surge protective device ESPAC V T2 20/275 4+0 12400200080
Protection of sub-distribution boards against surges
A four-pole surge protective device designed for installation in sub-distribution boards of residential, office, and industrial buildings. The device protects the electrical installation from the effects of indirect lightning strikes and switching surges generated by loads.
The housing occupies four modules on the DIN rail (72 mm width), allowing for installation in standard modular distribution boards. Power can be supplied via a traditional cable or a busbar - the manufacturer has provided both fork and pin terminals. The maximum cross-section of the connected conductor is 35 mm² for single-core and 25 mm² for multi-core.
Replaceable modules and status signaling
The ESPAC V T2 series is characterized by its modular construction - each pole is equipped with a replaceable protective insert. In the event of wear or activation, there is no need to replace the entire device, which reduces installation maintenance costs.
An optical indicator informs about the current status of the device directly on the housing: green means operational, while red signals the need to replace the module. This solution enables quick verification of the protection status without the need to disassemble the distribution board or use additional diagnostic tools.
Operating parameters and network compatibility
The device operates in TN-S and TN-C-S network systems, which covers most installations in public utility buildings and residential facilities in Poland. The rated voltage is 230 V AC, and the maximum continuous operating voltage is 275 V AC.
The rated discharge current of 20 kA (8/20 µs) ensures effective absorption of surge energy typical for indirect lightning strikes. The maximum discharge current reaches 40 kA, and the short-circuit withstand strength reaches 50 kA - a parameter important in the event of power supply network failures.
A protection level of 1.35 kV effectively limits the peak voltage to values safe for connected loads. The manufacturer allows the use of external overcurrent protection up to 160 A - in both parallel and series connections.
Installation and operating conditions
Installation is possible in two positions on the DIN rail, providing flexibility when adapting to existing distribution boards. The housing protection rating is IP20, therefore the device is intended for indoor installation - in dry technical rooms or electrical switchgear cabinets.
The manufacturer recommends using this type of surge arrester as a second stage of surge protection - behind devices installed in the main distribution board of the building.
