Installation cable (N)YM-O 500V 3x1.5 (N)YM-O5-3X1,5
Installation cable (N)YM-O is a versatile solution for electrical installations in residential and commercial buildings. It is characterized by high flexibility and durability, which makes installation easier even in difficult conditions. This cable is designed to operate in circuits with a rated voltage of up to 500V, and its construction ensures safe and reliable operation.
Construction and application
The (N)YM-O cable consists of copper conductors insulated with polyvinyl chloride (PVC). The conductors are twisted, which increases the flexibility of the cable and makes it easier to lay. The outer sheath, also made of PVC, provides additional protection against mechanical damage and weathering. This cable is used in electrical installations inside buildings, in dry and damp rooms, under plaster or in protective conduits. It is ideal for powering sockets, lighting and other electrical appliances.
Key features and benefits
- Versatility: Suitable for a wide range of applications in building electrical installations.
- Flexibility: Twisted conductors make it easy to lay the cable, even in tight spaces.
- Durability: Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) provides resistance to mechanical damage and weathering.
- Safety: PVC insulation guarantees high electrical insulation and minimizes the risk of short circuits.
- Appropriate cross-section: The conductor cross-section of 1.5 mm² is optimal for most standard household applications, such as lighting or sockets.
- Fire reaction class Eca: Ensures limited contribution to fire propagation, which increases the fire safety of the building – important when choosing installation materials.
- Rated voltage 500V: Allows the cable to be used in standard building electrical installations.
Technical parameters in practice
The (N)YM-O 500V 3x1.5 cable has three conductors with a diameter of 7.4 mm each, which provides adequate current carrying capacity for most typical loads. The approximate outer diameter of the cable is also 7.4 mm, which makes it easier to run through pipes or cable ducts. The minimum permissible bending radius during permanent installation is 44.4 mm – it is worth taking this into account during installation to avoid damage to the internal conductors. The lack of armor or shielding makes the cable lightweight and easy to process, but it should be remembered to use it in places not exposed to strong electromagnetic interference or mechanical damage.
