Installation cable YDYp 750V 4x1 (bare copper) YDYP7-4X1
Universal installation cable for diverse applications
The YDYp 4x1 cable is a versatile component for electrical installations, suitable for both residential and commercial construction. Its flat geometry facilitates routing in hard-to-reach areas, while copper conductors ensure reliable current transmission. This cable is particularly useful where installation aesthetics and discretion are important.
Construction and properties
The YDYp cable consists of four solid copper conductors, each with a cross-section of 1 mm², insulated with polyvinyl chloride (PVC). The conductors are twisted to enhance flexibility and simplify installation. The entire assembly is enclosed in an outer PVC sheath, providing protection against mechanical damage and environmental influences. The rated voltage is 750V (U) / 450V (U0), making it suitable for most standard electrical installations. The minimum bending radius for fixed installations is 79.2 mm — this should be considered when planning the cable route.
This cable features a fire reaction class of Eca, indicating limited flammability and low smoke emission. Although it lacks armor or shielding, its robust construction ensures safe and long-term operation. Color-coded conductor identification simplifies correct wiring; however, the absence of a protective sheath and an earth conductor must be taken into account during installation design. This cable is not intended for marine environments or airport lighting applications. It is also not resistant to low temperatures or oils.
- Versatility: Ideal for installations in residential buildings, offices, and other public facilities.
- Easy installation: Flat geometry facilitates routing in cable channels and under plaster.
- Safety: PVC insulation provides protection against electric shock and mechanical damage.
- Durability: Copper conductors ensure reliable current transmission over a long service life.
- Identification: Color-coded conductors simplify correct connection of phase and neutral conductors (note: this cable does not include a protective earth conductor).
- Fire reaction class: Eca — ensures limited flammability in case of fire.
