DCAC Hermetic Distribution Box – Comprehensive Protection for Photovoltaic Installations
This hermetic DCAC distribution box, with an IP65 protection rating, is designed to provide the highest level of safety and reliability in photovoltaic installations. It effectively protects against overvoltage on both the DC and AC sides, making it an ideal solution for demanding applications. The design allows for the operation of three PV strings and three independent MPPTs, providing flexibility in system configuration.
Overvoltage Protection and Safety
The key element of the distribution box is Dehn type 1+2 surge arresters, dedicated to both the DC (up to 1000V) and AC sides. These arresters minimize the risk of damage to sensitive components of the photovoltaic installation in the event of sudden voltage surges, such as lightning strikes or network disturbances. Additionally, a built-in type A residual current device (63A/300mA) provides protection against electric shock and increases overall safety. The use of a Dehn surge arrester allows for a quick response to short-term current surges, which is particularly important when starting devices with a motor.
Construction and Application
The distribution box is enclosed in a hermetic housing with an IP65 protection rating, which guarantees resistance to dust and moisture – an ideal solution for mounting both indoors and outdoors. The design allows for easy integration with various types of inverters equipped with MPPT, as well as with other elements of the photovoltaic system. The ability to support three independent MPPT paths ensures compatibility with advanced energy monitoring and control systems. The distribution box is adapted to work with three-phase installations, but with appropriate parameter selection, it can also be used in single-phase systems.
