Knife fuse links NH are industrial protection devices designed to protect electrical installations from the effects of short circuits and overloads. Their construction and electrical parameters comply with PN-93/E-06160 (gF), PN-IEC-269 and VDE 0636 standards, which guarantees their reliable operation in demanding conditions. This model, designated as NH00 gG 160A/400V, is a time-delay fuse with a rated current of 160A and a voltage of 400V, ideal for protecting wires and devices requiring protection against overloads.

Construction and characteristic features

The fuse is made of high-quality materials, ensuring durability and reliability. The steatite body is thermally stable, and the knife contacts made of silver-plated brass guarantee good electrical contact. Aluminum covers protect against corrosion, and the interior filled with quartz sand of a special granulation provides a high short-circuit breaking capacity – up to 120kA.

Particular attention is paid to the dual tripping indicator – a red eye on the ceramic body and a springy plate on the top cover. This solution facilitates quick identification of a blown fuse, both in the fuse base and in the disconnector. Additionally, the indicator on the cover enables cooperation with the NVS 5 microswitch for remote tripping signaling.

Application and benefits

The NH00 gG 160A/400V fuse is used in a wide range of industrial and energy installations. Thanks to its gG characteristic (general purpose), it works perfectly as a protection for wires against overloads and short circuits. Its high short-circuit breaking capacity (120kA) minimizes the risk of damage to the installation in the event of a failure. Additionally, the possibility of remote tripping signaling allows for a quick response and limitation of downtime. It is worth mentioning the low power losses (11.2W), which translates into energy efficiency of the system. The total Joule integral of switching is 180,000 A²s and the arc fault integral is 76,000 A²s, which proves high efficiency in the event of a short circuit.
