Knife fuse links – reliable installation protection

Knife fuse links NH are industrial devices designed to protect electrical installations against the effects of short circuits and overloads. Their parameters and dimensions comply with PN-93/E-06160 (gF), PN-IEC-269 and VDE 0636 standards, which guarantees their reliability and safety of use. This particular fuse link, designated as NH000 gG 10A/690V, is time-delay, which means it allows for short-term exceeding of the rated current without disconnecting the circuit – ideal for applications where short current surges occur, e.g. during motor starting.

Construction and characteristic features

The fuse link is made of high-quality materials: a steatite body (thermally stable material), silver-plated brass knife contacts and an aluminum cover – which ensures corrosion resistance and long-term operation. The inside of the fuse link is filled with quartz sand of a special granulation, which affects the high short-circuit breaking capacity (up to 100 kA) and stable electrical parameters. Additionally, the fuse link is equipped with a double tripping indicator – a red eye on the ceramic body and a springy plate on the cover – which facilitates quick identification of a blown fuse. This dual system provides good visibility of the fuse link status in both fuse bases and disconnectors.

Application and compatibility

The NH000 gG 10A/690V fuse link finds application in a wide range of electrical installations where protection against overloads and short circuits is required. It is a universal element designed to protect cables (gG characteristic). Compatibility with the NVS 5 microswitch enables remote signaling of the fuse link operation, which increases safety and facilitates fault diagnosis. Insulated handles R 00-3 or GPSHE/AI are recommended for mounting. Remember to choose the appropriate fuse base or fuse disconnector, adapted to the size NH000.
