Fuse-link knife-type – reliable installation protection
Knife-type fuse-links NH are industrial devices used to protect electrical installations against the effects of short circuits and overloads. Their design and electrical parameters comply with PN-93/E-06160 (gF), PN-IEC-269 and VDE 0636 standards, which guarantees their reliable operation and safety. This model, designated as NH2 gG 280A/400V, is intended for general use, providing effective protection of wires and devices.
Design and characteristic features
The fuse-link has been designed with durability and reliability in mind. The body is made of high-quality steatite – a thermally stable material resistant to high temperatures generated during current flow. The knife contacts made of silver-plated brass minimize electrical resistance and ensure a secure connection. Aluminum covers protect against corrosion, extending the life of the fuse-link. The interior of the fuse-link is tightly filled with quartz sand of a special granulation, which translates into a high short-circuit breaking capacity – up to 120 kA – and stable electrical parameters.
A special feature of this fuse-link is the dual operating indicator: a red eyelet located centrally on the ceramic body and a springy plate on the top cover. This solution ensures easy and quick identification of a blown fuse-link, both visually in the fuse base and in the disconnector. Additionally, the indicator on the top cover allows cooperation with the NVS 5 microswitch, enabling remote signaling of the fuse-link operation – important in automatic monitoring and control systems.
Application and parameters
The NH2 gG 280A/400V fuse-link finds application in a wide range of electrical installations, both in industry and in commercial or public utility construction. The rated current of 280 A at a voltage of 400 V and the gG characteristic (full-range protection) make it an ideal solution for protecting circuits powering various types of electrical receivers. The value of the Joule integral of switching is 818900 A²s and the pre-arcing 123000 A²s, which proves its ability to absorb energy during a short circuit. The "double (combined)" indicator provides a quick reaction to the flow of short-circuit current and information about the need to replace the protective element. The power loss during continuous operation is 20 W.
